Living healthy and timely lives, it was rare for a ranger to get sick, but not impossible. So when they did the rest of the rangers were prepared for everything. After joining together as a team, Emily was the first to get sick.

It was the standard flu, nothing too major, however when the rangers had the flu it was very different.

Growing up, the rangers had to learn how to connect with their symbol powers. This meant connecting with their respective elements physically and mentally. So whenever the rangers ended up getting sick, they weren't able to focus and control their elements as well.

So when Emily got the flu, that's when they all realized how connected they were with their powers, but also how differently they were affected by their symbols.

Emily's power is connected with the earth. So when she got sick, she was more... well.... down to earth. Her attitude significantly changed. She didn't care as much as she would if she weren't sick. All she wanted to do was sleep and stay in bed. The only reason why she would get up was if there was a nighlok attack, but even then it was difficult to get herself out of bed, even though Mike and the others wouldn't let her go in the first place.

Mike was the next to get sick, after spending a lot of time with Emily he had gotten the same illness Emily had. Since Mike's element pertains to the forest, his attitude reflected it. A forest is home to hundreds of different species and vegetation. It can stretch for miles, and is filled with many different things, both dangerous and not. So when Mike got sick, his attitude was unpredictable. He would either be really open to everyone and chatty with them, or he would be so quiet and "un-Mike" like that it scared everyone.

After Mike was Kevin. Kevin had gotten sick after sharing a room with Mike. Kevin's element is water. The oceans, streams, lakes and ponds are all unpredictable at first glance but under the ripples is a magnificent sight of marine life and vegetation. However, these bodies of water can also be deadly. With strong waves crashing, the ocean could be just as, if not more, unpredictable as the forest. It could be wild one minute and calm the next. So when Kevin got sick he had a "go-with-the-flow" attitude. He was still dedicated to the samurai training, but he gave little resistance when the others convinced him to take some time off training and rest.

The last person to get sick was Mia. Being an "older sister" to the samurai family, Mia tended everyone. Which may not have been the best idea. Although her intentions were well, it had caused her to get sick as well. Since her element is the wind, Mia was a lot more "floaty." Whenever she laid in bed, she just melted into the covers. She seemed much more relaxed and even though she was sick, the others haven't seen her more peaceful.

The last one to get sick was Jayden. How he got sick is still unknown. It had been months since the other rangers had gotten sick, and Jayden helped them (of course) but at a safe and sanitary distance.

With his elemental power being fire, whenever Jayden had gotten a fever it was bad and dangerous. On a normal day, Jayden's temperature was already around 99-100° fahrenheit. Typically this would have caused concern for a majority of people, but Mentor knew that it was just another side effect of his element. But when Jayden got sick, his temperature rose into dangerous levels ranging from 101-108° Fahrenheit.

The other rangers didn't know this. They had only known each other for about 6 months, and although that is a long period of time, it was rare for one of them to get sick.

"Where is Jayden?" Emily asked as she walked out into the training room.

"I don't know. He's always on time or early." Antonio replied.
