What Are Video Games?

Ever since the fall of the previous samurai rangers, Jayden had to start training at a young age. Age 7 to be exact. Jayden didn't have a normal childhood, between sword fighting, symbol power practice, meditation and other training regiments, Jayden wasn't able to get a proper childhood. He missed out on many of the normal childhood activities such as roller coasters, board games, movies and even video games. He knew what those activities were but never was able to experience them.

After long hours of training, the samurai rangers found different ways to relax and unwind. Emily would play her flute or talk with Mia while she "cooked". Mike would typically play on his video counsel that he hooked up to the TV in the main area. Kevin would read a book, and Antonio would go fishing or take a nap. Jayden, on the other hand, didn't have a specific hobby that interested him and wasn't related to training. He would float around hanging out with everyone.

Even though each ranger had their own specific activity they liked to do during their free time, they also liked to hang out with each other. Which was what Kevin and Mike were doing right now. Kevin wasn't a big fan of video games, not as much as Mike at least, but he did enjoy the thrill of completing different levels that required a higher level thinking.

Currently, they were playing "Attack of the Zombies", Mikes newest game. He had asked Kevin to help him out with a level he was stuck on. Whenever Mike was stuck on a level he turned to Kevin. This time, however, Kevin was having difficulty too.

This led to an unusual occurrence in the Shiba house. Mike and Kevin spent hours trying to pass the level. Somehow during their time playing the game, Mia and Emily had joined as well.

All four of them tried everything. The main goal of the level was to reach the golden trophy at the end of the level without being spotted by the zombies. The group tried many tactics such as hiding behind boxes, going through buildings, swimming through lakes, and may others but none worked.

"This is hopeless!" Both Mike and Kevin yelled together.

"I've tried everything!" Kevin stood up from his seat frustrated.

"Guys it's not the end of the world, you can do it tomorrow." Emily reasoned with the two boys.

"Emily, this is going to bug me if we can't figure out how to pass this level." Mike pouted.

In a normal situation, Mike's actions may have been considered childish. However, being a samurai wasn't typically considered a normal situation . The rangers took every chance they got to do something fun to connect themselves with their lives before the rangers.

"How about going through that building?" Mia asked pointing to the tallest building in the level.

"We tried that already, the zombies got us when we tried going into the vents." Kevin told her pacing back and forth trying to come up with another plan.

It was at this moment, Jayden entered the main room. Seeing his friends annoyed (girls) and frustrated (boys) faces he wondered what had caused his friends' mood change.

"Hey guys... what's up?" Jayden asked sitting next to Mike.

"Kevin and Mike have been trying to pass this level for hours now. Emily and I thought we could help but we couldn't think of anything they haven't already tried." Mia responded.

"Here dude you try." Mike said handing Jayden his controller.

"What do I do?" Jayden asked looking at the controller in his hands.
