Newt X Reader Imagine

Part 10

A few days had past. I'm starting to get the hang of things around here. Being the only girl here definitely isn't easy, but the boys are cool with me. I've learned a lot more with the Med-Jacks, and Newt and I talk everyday. The only problem is, I'm getting impatient on hearing back if I can be a runner or not. I don't want to rush anything for them, but it would be nice to know. Clint told me I had a day off today while he was going to spend time cleaning supplies. I was sitting in the grass by a tree, daydreaming. It was starting to get late, the runners should be back soon. All of a sudden I hear a distant scream. "HELP!" I immediately stood up. "WE NEED HELP!" I started running as fast as I could. It was the runners returning. One of them had been injured, and Minho was carrying him. Newt and Gally quickly run over and then stop. They noticed the the walls were starting to close. Minho wasn't even half way close to being in the Glade yet.

I panicked as the walls started to shut more. The Gladers were yelling "YOU CAN MAKE IT!" "COME ON!" The walls were nearly shut. I looked at Minho struggling to carry the runners body as he tries to make it before the walls close. I then decided to, without even thinking, run into the maze and help carry him. Newt goes to grab my arm to stop me, but barley misses. We pushed the wounded runner out, but then the walls shut. Minho and I were officially trapped inside of the maze.
