Gotta catch 'em all (Ash x reader)

ch-12 Serena

Ash just caught a Fletchling, and I caught a Noibat! They're both such cuties! Right now, we're trying to catch Dedenne, the pokemon Bonnie wants. I sent out Zip to catch it from the holes it made. We waited for a few minutes, the other pokemon came out, but no sign of Zip, Zap, or Dedenne.

~Time skip because author is lazy~
Clemont finally caught the Dedenne, and Bonnie was letting it sleep in her purse, how adorable. "Now that's out of the list, lets go to Santalune city." I said and they all nodded. After we reached the gym, Ash insisted that I fight first because he wants to see me battle. "Alright then, go Zip!" I sent out my Pikachu. Viola sent out a Surskit. Despite having an advantage, Zip lost... "Z-Zip, return. Go Char!" I sent out Charizard. I beat Surskit and her Vivillon. In this, I didn't notice a girl entering, and watching my match. "Congratulation, here is the bug badge." Viola said, handing me the gym badge. "Thanks." I said, then I ran out, completely forgetting about my bag, and to the pokemon center.

"Nurse Joy! My Pikachu is injured." I called out to Nurse Joy, giving her Zip. A Wigglytuff took her away. Just then Ash, Clemont and Bonnie came running in. "Y/n! Don't go running like that!" Ash scolded and I smiled sheepishly at him. "Sorry babe, I was so worried about Zip, that I totally forgot about you guys." I replied. "Babe?!" Clemont and Bonnie exclaimed in shock. We looked at them in confusion. "What?" both of us asked. "Are you two dating? OMG that's so sweet!" Bonnie squealed, and we both blushed. "Y-Yeah, we are..." I answered. 

We sat outside, me being worried about Zip again. "E-excuse me." someone said and I turned in that direction to see a girl holding my bag. "I think this is yours." She said. "O-oh, yeah! It's mine, guess I forgot it. Thanks." I said, as she handed me the bag. Ash and the others arrived there. "Hey! It's the girl from before!" Bonnie exclaimed, making me confused. "Huh?" "She was standing with us during your match." Ash said. "My name's Bonnie, this is Clemont and say hi to Dedenne." Bonnie introduced to the girl. "I'm Ash and this is my partner Pikachu." Ash introduced himself. "Nice to meet you." The girl said.

"Hehe, sorry, I was so engrossed in the match that I didn't even notice you were there." I apologized. "Oh, that's okay." she reassured. "My name's Y/n." I introduced myself. "I know. Serena's my name." she introduced herself, and I looked thoughtful. "Serena..." Where have I heard that name before...? "Yeah! Do you remember--" her sentence was cut off by Nurse Joy announcing that Zip is alright. 

"Thank you for waiting, your Pikachu is in tip top condition." Nurse Joy said as Zip jumped into my arms. "Thanks Nurse Joy! Zip, meet Serena! Serena, this is Zip, my Pikachu." I said. "Pi Pikachu!" Zip greeted. "Nice to meet you too." Serena greeted back. "I just realized something. Nurse Joy, how did you get to the pokemon center from route four without passing me?" She asked. "Are you sure that this is the Nurse Joy you met on the route four?" Ash asked. "Couldn't be. I think the Nurse Joy you met on the route four was my cousin." Nurse Joy said. "I knew it." I muttered. "Here is a picture of me and my cousins in the Kalos region nursing workshop." She showed us a picture.

"Ash, it's the same in Kalos too." I said and he nodded. "Oh right! I was hoping you could check my pokemon too." Serena said and sent out a Fennekin. "Look, a Fennekin! It reminds me of my Fennekin Foxy." I cooed at the small fox pokemon, petting it as Ash looked at its info. Clemont said something about Fennekin about being a starter in Kalos and that he concluded that Serena is a new trainer. Suddenly someone called out my name. I turned around to see Alexa. "Oh hey Alexa." "Hey Y/n, I see Zip is all healed up. Let me guess, you're gonna help Ash train for his battle now?" She asked and I nodded.

 "Yeah, that's one of the reasons I try to battle a gym leader first, so that I can get all the weak points of their pokemon and their style of battling so I can help Ash win with a greater advantage! Not that I think he is weak or something of course." I rambled. "And I was was hoping you could help out." I ended. "Sure thing!" She said. We headed to the battle field. "Ok, first things things, Vivillon's gust attack is really strong, so we need to make sure that your pokemon can withstand its gust attack. I would honestly prefer using Fletchling or Zap because they have an advantage. Also, you will need to do something about her Suskit's ice battle field and sticky web and Vivillon's psychic." I said.

Alexa sent out her Noivern. "Go ahead Alexa." Ash said. "Noivern, use gust!" Zap and Fletchling managed to withstand it for a few seconds, but then they flew a few feet back, as Ash ran to catch them. Ash told Alexa to use gust again, this time the two pokemon managed to withstand it longer, but went flying again, as Ash caught them again. Now, he was all dirty and dusty. I sighed and walked to him with a handkerchief, and bent down to his level, giving it to him. "Heh, thanks." He said, taking the handkerchief from me.

Someone tapped my shoulder and I looked up to see Serena. "What is it?" I asked, not in a mean manner, but in a curious one. "I needed to ask you something. Y/n, do you... remember me?" She asked, looking down shyly. "Uhh..." "Think back to when you went to that camp in Pallet town." she said. "Oh, gramps held a summer camp a few years back, I did attend it." I said. "I know, I went to it too! That's where we met!" She exclaimed. 

~2nd person pov~
You looked deep in thought, looking at the sky. Then your eyes widened. "If you're the person I'm thinking I met at the camp and became friends with is you, then you must remember this song!" You suddenly exclaimed, making Ash flinch at the loudness of your voice. You started singing as Serena immediately remembered the song you wrote with her.

You both sang together, making a beautiful duet. "Can't stop my heart when you shining in my eyes. Can't lie, it's a sweet life, stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight. You getting me, getting me through the night." "Light light light, you're my flashlight, light light." "You're my flashlight, light light. Oh~ you're my flashlight." You ended. You got up and hugged her. She blushed, but you didn't notice, since your head was in the crook of her neck. Ash looked jealous. 

Serena hugged you back. "I'm still not able to believe it's you. It's been four years since we last met. I can't believe we met again. Oh my god, I didn't even recognize you, I'm such a bad friend." You rambled as Serena chuckled. "No no, I won't blame you, I changed a lot since last time." Serena tried to reassure you. "Let's start again Alexa!" Ash said suddenly. You all moved away. "Ash, you can do it! Like the old times! Never give up!" You cheered your boyfriend on. That seemed to be more inspired and encouraged to win now. 

~Time skip~
Ash's battle with Viola was going on, and Fletchling was unable to battle, same went with Surskit. Right now, Ash was at a disadvantage, and he looked like he was ready to give up. You being the good girlfriend you were, decided to cheer him on. "You can do it Ash! Don't give up till the end!" You yelled, encouraging him more. Serena seemed to remember something.

~Flashback~
"Don't give up till it's over!" the 8 year old you said to the 8 year old Serena, lending her a hand  with a huge smile. She hesitantly took your hand, as you swiftly pulled her up on her feet.
~Flashback over~

~Y/n's pov~
At the end, Ash won the bug badge. We all walked away, to the Cyllage City. "Hey Serena, where are you headed to now?" I asked. "oh well uhhh I uhhh..." "Why don't you join us?" I asked. "Yeah, it'll be fun!" Bonnie said, holding Serena's wrist. "I mean, I would love to have an old friend joining us. We've got a lot of catching up to do anyway." I said. "Okay, sure!" Serena said. I nodded and took out my phone. "So, we're here and we're gonna go to Cyllage city which is here. We'll need to travel back through Lumiose city, before we go to Cyllage city." I said, pointing to how we're gonna walk on my GPS map. 

"Great! There's a boutique in the Lumiose city with the cutest clothes and there's an awesome bakery that has the best pastries you've ever tasted!" Serena explained, as my mouth watered at the mention of pastries. "What're we waiting for? Let's go!" Serena said, as she and Bonnie started to run in the direction of Lumiose city, me following pursuit.
