The next seven days went smoothly. My wound was already barely felt the day I regained consciousness, and the next seven days only caused the wound to heal even better. On the fourth day I even went off my bed for a walk to see if there is any side effect for my treatment.

The doctor examined my abdomen closely. 'Good as new.' He said. 'Not even a single visible scar left.'

'Thank you doctor, for saving my life.' I said. 'You're welcome. If there is any persistent symptom you can come back and I will take a look.' The doctor replied.

I was then discharged from the hospital. My parents paid the final sum of treatment fee and we lived in a hotel.

I went to my house the next day. My house was a mess now, with broken glass everywhere and the front door being torn down by explosives. Because I was in a coma, I wasn't able to clean it up after the breach by the assault squad. Therefore, I will have to live in a hotel with my parents for now.

My parents and I spent the next months cleaning up and fixing my house. We first cleaned up the mess and discarded everything that was broken. Then, we bought new furnitures and windows to replace the broken ones. Finally, we assessed the house thoroughly to see if we need to apply some new paint or fix a cracked wall, and did what had to be done to make my house look better. Jason admitted taking some evidence from my house and apologized for going inside without my permission. I forgave him without hesitation, as without his work I would not have been rehabilitated. With the help from my parents, my house is restored completely after a month.

The next thing I have to do is to catch up with my school works.

My parents decided to stay with me for the next three months to see if I need any support. I was lagging behind the school's curriculum by two months. Fortunately, I had full support from my parents as they taught me what I had missed. Combined with the fact that I am a fast learner, I caught up in no time and passed the final exam with decent results. Not exactly flying colors, but it is already enough to get me into a good college.

Three months have passed and my parents departed yet again to resume their job abroad, I reenlisted into the militia. After a combat assessment and some discussion with those squad leaders, it is agreed that I am both physically and mentally capable of reinstating as the leader of division 13. I went back to the base the next day to retrieve my leader badge.

'Good to see you back, A13. We are so glad you are okay.' Fung, the deputy leader of division 13, handed me the leader badge as he speak.

'Thanks.' I said. 'How's the squad doing?'

'We did great. Got a couple missions and completed all of them successfully without casualties. Hins got his leg shot during the last fight so he need a few days off. But trust me, he will be fine soon.'

'Good job Fung.' I said. 'You are a great leader during my absence.'

'Not when compared to you. We missed you a lot. You are a way better leader and our best friends.' Jacky shouted. Fung glared at him and he covered his mouth in sarcasm.

I laughed as I put the badge back on my shirt.

It has been almost a year after I woke up from my coma. School has ended and college won't start for the next two months. My life has returned to normal completely and everything else has been settled. Everything except for one.

Monika.

One year ago, Monika and I had planned a daring great escape. I didn't make it but I told Monika to proceed with the plan and leave me behind. If everything else went according to plan then Monika should be starting a new life somewhere in K city. It's been a year and I should go and find her.
