(Two days later)

The past two days had been busy for me. I went back and forth between my home and Bases to carry equipments to my house. I stacked a total of 300 ammo along with dozens of explosives and utilities. This ought to be enough for the assault. The only thing I am lacking now is manpower. Curtis is not likely to help me judging from his tone when I spoke to him. Besides, I don't have any friends beside Gavin and Jason that are either brave enough or have sufficient combat experience to help me out.

Besides hoarding ammunition, I also did some practice by myself. I fired up multiple simulations with my VR headset in order to be familiar with assaulting a mansion, and even fired live rounds at my backyard to test if my weapons are working properly. I had talked to Sayori and warned her not to get close to me while I am testing my weaponries, and fortunately she listened to me this time without questioning.

And now I am waiting at my house. Today is the day where we three are supposed to meet up here to plan for the operation. Jason should have obtained the intelligence we need by now and we would make our plans based on what we know. Sayori and I waited eagerly for our visitors to come. Although Sayori isn't part of the operation, as my girlfriend she deserves to know the detail so I allowed her to listen as we discuss.

I heard my doorbell ring and I rushed to open the door. 'Gavin, Jason. Come inside.' I greeted.

After we made ourselves comfortable at my table, I decided I will be the first to ask questions. 'So, how's the intelligence going?' I asked Jason.

'Not optimistic for us.' Jason sighed. 'I am able to hack into David's private server and obtain the blueprint of his mansion. This gives me full access to the detail of his home.'

Jason opened his laptop and showed us the blueprint as he speaks. 'This is the structure of his house. It's rigged with security camera and motion sensors everywhere. We can't sneak into his house.' He commented.

'What if we push in with sheer brute force?' I asked. 'Gavin has a shield and we can use it to our advantage.'

Jason shook his head. 'From what I had obtained from the server, there is a list to all the guards in his mansion. There are around 100 guards on the list. At least 40 of them are stationed at the garden located in front of the structure.' He said. 'You guys will be outnumbered and surrounded before you can even get into the mansion itself.'

I pointed on the laptop screen. 'What are those? Seems like solid structure.' I asked.

'David has a lot of pillars installed in his garden as decorations.' Jason explained. 'And I know what you're thinking. Yes those pillars are thick and rigid enough to be used a cover.'

'Good.' I said. 'Problem solved.'

'Hang on a minute.' Jason halted. 'Even if you can get pass those guards, you still have to fight 60 more inside the mansion, a tighter and more compact space. The fact that they are more familiar with the terrain than us doesn't help either.

I facepalmed. This is really tough with just the three of us.

'So, what now?' Gavin asked. We three stayed in silence, our mind still thinking about how to overcome this.

Our thoughts were interrupted by another ringing doorbell. Unexpectedly, I opened the front door to see Curtis standing outside my house. He is wearing his combat suit and he carries his Kar98k on his back.

'Didn't expect to see me here, huh?' Curtis said, still using his cold tone. 'You should thank Gavin for this. He talked to me and after some thinking I gathered enough sympathy to push myself to help you.'
