With the help of the tracker I laced on our ship earlier, we were able to track it down and board it without a hitch. The next three hours were much more relaxing compared to our journey to K city. Kam further studied Monika's injuries on our way home. She was in a pretty bad shape considering the fact that she is being beaten and mistreated for months.

Still, that doesn't matter. That belongs to the past and she is now safe with me.

We landed at the H city pier after I precisely docked the ship. I carefully erased every single piece of evidence that the ship was being stolen by us, even refueling it to make it look convincing. The next time the ship owner uses the ship, he would scarcely know that his ship was a part of a rescue mission during the weekend.

We walk back towards the apple tree near my home, where Fung and the squad members are dismissed, leaving me and Monika alone. I helped Monika to sit under the apple tree, slowly leaning her back onto the tree trunk to provide support for her weak body.

I took a seat besides her. We remained in silence for a while, not knowing what to say. I decided to take the lead.

'Kinda reminded me of what happened a year ago, when we first talked face to face right under the apple tree.' I said.

Monika began to sob. 'A13. I really thought you were dead. I missed you so much!' Her words were chopped by her sobbing.

I held her by her shoulder and gently pulled her towards me. I then patted on her back for a few times and briefly combed her messy hair. 'It's okay. I am here now.' I whispered into her ear. I let her go after a minute.

'After I arrived at K city and settled, I can't help but think about you every day.' Monika continued. 'I knew the chance of you living was almost zero, but I remind myself of your beautiful face every night as I drift off to sleep. Life is very different without you by my side.'

'One day I was at a bar alone, drinking my sorrow away. David walked in and talked to me. He seemed such a nice person and a good listener. He offered to be my new boyfriend to repel my loneliness. I...... I......' Monika hesitated. She was still crying softly and she speaks.

'I must have been a horrible girlfriend of yours, right?' Monika asked.

I held her hand and looked into her eyes. 'Not at all.' I assured. 'You thought I was gone. Any reasonable person would have eventually moved on after knowing that their love interest is gone. Besides, I am at fault too, for not visiting you as soon as I can.'

'I wasn't sober at that time. I promise I would never do that again.' Monika promised. I can clearly hear the guilt in her voice.

'It's okay. Everything belongs to the past now.' I assured her. 'Maybe we can start it all over......' I said as I grabbed her hand and tried to lead her to my house, but she refused.

'I am sorry, but I don't think we can start it over.' Monika said quietly. She seemed uncomfortable.

'Why?' I asked. 'David, he...... He forced me to do that.' Monika blushed a little when she said that.

I was genuinely confused. 'Monika, please elaborate. I can't help you with the problem if you are being vague.'

'He...... I am not a virgin anymore. He forced me to do that with him. I am so sorry.' Monika breathed profusely while saying that.

'Oh.' I was relieved. I thought she was talking about something more serious. 'Silly Monika. Do you think I would mind that?'

'Wait. You really don't mind about the fact that I am not 'clean' anymore?' Monika looked at me eagerly.
