Monstrous beasts were fighting right in front of me but all I could focus on was Exedra's warning.

Seth made use of Pyrus Bakugan. While Shuji made use of Aquos.

I distanced myself from the group of spectators telling them that I couldn't take the heat that was radiating off of the Bakugans.

"So what is so unnerving about this match?"
I took out Exedra to question him further.

"The air around that human is odd. He has this... how should I explain it. Smog like air. He is a bit like you but smell slightly more Noxious."

I took a couple of sniffs. Did I really smell that bad? I am sure I put deodorant on before I got to the park.

Soon the first Battle had ended with Seth's win.

"Tsk. Beginners luck. I will show you what a true master of Aquos space is capable of punk."

"Yeah. Yeah. Shut up and throw out your next Bakugan."

"Tsk." Shuji threw out his Robotallion. Clearly unamused by Seth's attitude.

Seth reached in his pockets taking out mutliple different Bakugan pods

Seth reached in his pockets taking out mutliple different Bakugan pods.

"1...2...3...4... that looks like a lot."

I watched as he pulled out a hand full of Bakugans out of his pockets.

"Hmm. Who shall I pick? Decisions. Dicisions..." Seth had a playful smile on his face as he carefully inspected each Bakugan taking his sweet time.

"Get going already! Unlike you I don't have time to waste. Especially not on a coward like you!"

Seth was getting more and more on Shuji's nerves.

"Haha. No." Seth casually threw out his own gatecard and a Serpenoid out on said gatecard.

Seth just gave Shuji a chance to Doubledown. But with how unknown the rule is at the moment with the game still being new and all he might not know about it.

Veins started popping on Shuji's head. Out of sheer anger Shuji threw his Bakugan.

Maybe it was because of all the Brawlers he played before Seth, or maybe it was because he had a horrendous stamina.

But Shuji fumbled his throw. His Bakugan which was supposed go in a clean line towards Seth's Serpenoid to beat it to death, faltered midway and came short.

Ending up on his own gatecard.

Seth's smile dissipated from his face.
And just like that I felt like everything was suddenly clear to me.

Seth was going to win.

"He knows..." I muttered.

But how? Did he read about it online these laste couple of days? Did he perhaps hear it from Dan?

No that Can't be it. Dan isn't close to anyone at school.

His online friends are the best he has.

"He is like me?"

Exedra's words rung in my head as everything around me distanced away from me like my spirit left my body.

Shuji was flabbergasted for a moment but immediately changed smug once he realised he tied the score. Albeit accidentally.

Seth stared at Shuji in silent rage. No quips or provocations anymore.

It seemed Seth had decided to go serious. He took a another Pyrus Bakugan from his pocket and threw it on the gate card where his Centipoid was located to double down  and take the lead again.

"Tsk. Copycat."

Shuji threw his gate card and Robotallion on the field.

"I am going to end this." It seemed that losing a single point to Shuji really soured Seth's mood since he aimed his Bakugan straight at Shuji's gate card without even trying to set up his own.

He wanted to finish it as soon as possible.

"Go! Leonidas!"

"Hold on what?"

A form emerged in a dazzling red glow and took form into a dragon-like Bakugan.

The Bakugan had three horns, two over his ears and one in the middle of his muzzle. He had three toes on each foot and three fingers on each hand.
His tail was long and ended in a sharp looking arrow.

His gaze was clear as he stared straight at his enemy.

"Abillity card activate: "Robotallion Enforcement."

Balls of light started to gather around Robotallion as he started to glow with energy.

"Activate gate card: Whirlpool!"

The Gate card suddenly emmited a bright glow as a giant whirlpool manifested underneath the Bakugans.

Leonidas let out a horrid sounding roar in anger while Robotallion swiftly swum towards the distressed leonidas in hopes of finishing him quickly.

"Abillity card activate: Firewall

"Abillity card activate: Firewall."

I giant wall of fire started to surround Leonidas, evaportaing the water underneath and blasting Robotallion's advances back.

"And with this abillity card I will finish it all! Abillity card activate: Alpha Blaster!"

Electricity started to gather in Leonidas' throat as he rose high up into the air with a heavy beat of his wings.

He stared down at us from high above and for a fraction of a second he made eye contact with me.

My spine started tingling as Leonidas let a a mighty energy blast down onto the helpless Robotallion on the ground.

Shockwaves spread through the whole field as we, the spectators, just barely managed to brace ourselves from falling on our backs, while Shuji fell hard on his back dropping his Bakugans on the ground.

Time around us started moving again as we got warped back into the real world.

Seth wordlessly approached Shuji to collect his spoils from the ground but I couldn't help but focus on what I had seen in this battle.

I needed some more time to gather all my thoughts.

I felt jarred and my back was covered with a tinge of sweat.

I said goodbye to the others who were thanking Seth for winning back their Bakugan as a rode my board back home.

On the way back I thought back to Exedra's words, to Leonidas the Bakugan that was not supposed to exist except for in a video game and Seth who somehow knew the rules.

"How dumb of me to think I was special. I wasn't the only one in this world. He is just like me."

Seth was also someone from another world and clearly. He too knew of the rules.
