I’m aiming to finish Saving Tom Riddle by 31st January, which shouldn’t be too hard. Then I’ll start Black’s Return, which I’ll probably be finished by 28th February.
I’m updating so often because it’s the school holidays, so when school starts back at the end of January, there will be less updates.
Sorry, but school is unavoidable.
By the way, I made an amusing error when I was typing this up. Instead of writing ‘Professor Dippet walked over to his owl, which was sitting on his desk, and scribbled a message on a piece of parchment,’ I wrote ‘Professor Dippet walked over to his owl, which was sitting on his desk, and scribbled a message on it.’ So originally, he was meant to write on his owl.
Oops…

TOM’S POV
I hadn’t called another meeting with my followers for a while now.
I didn’t even really talk to them anymore. In fact, the only person I talked to often was Hermione Argentum. Rosa Parkinson now avoided me at all costs, but was apparently still waiting for the right time to get her revenge on Hermione.
And, frankly, I was a little worried for Hermione – Parkinson was dangerous when she was angry, and she was murderously angry.
HERMIONE’S POV
Walking out of Study of Ancient Runes, my path was blocked by none other than Rosa Parkinson.
Glancing at the expression on Parkinson’s face, I knew there was going to be trouble.
“Decided to hide instead of going public, did you?” Parkinson spat. “You coward.”
I frowned.
What was she talking about? “Going public about what?”
“Trying for innocence, are you? Well, it’s not working. Tom told me recently that you two are going to the Ball together!”
She clearly thought our friendship was closer than friendship.
I turned back to Parkinson. “Well, yes, we are, but that’s nothing. We’re friends, sure, but nothing more. I’ve got a boyfriend…”
I had almost forgotten about Ron. He was a world away, after all.
What I did here wouldn’t matter back home. At least, I hoped it wouldn’t, because if Ron ever found out that my only friend was the child Voldemort, he would be extremely angry with me and would probably break up with me and we would never even be friends again.
And that’d leave you free to date Tom instead. That’d gain his trust.
Parkinson stared at me with total hate. “So you just accepted when he asked you to the Hallowe’en Ball so he’d fall in love with you, then you’re going to break it to him that you’ve already got a boyfriend? That’s just cruel.”
Before I could reply, Tom walked out of Study of Ancient Runes behind me and grabbed my hand. “Come on! Arithmancy!”
“This isn’t over, Argentum,” Parkinson hissed, then stalked off towards her next class.
Tom and I headed off towards Arithmancy – somehow, we’d managed to get exactly the same timetable.
Just before we entered the classroom, I suddenly became aware of the fact that Tom was still holding my hand.
“Uh, Tom? Why are you…?” I motioned awkwardly to our joined hands.
Tom quickly took his hand away, blushing furiously.
