Mike walked through the front door and immediately ran up to his room. He locked the door and slumped onto his bed. He grabbed his super-comm and called Max. "Max, do you copy? It's Mike, over." he said into the super-comm. "Yeah, what do you want?" Max said back. "Well actually, I'd like to know why you told my mom." The super-comm went silent. "Last time I confide in you." Mike rolled his eyes and shut off the super-comm. He was sick of this. Sick of everything. This past year had been terrible. He could barely go 353 days without El, he didn't know if he could do it for the rest of his life. He wanted to give in. But he couldn't, El wouldn't have wanted him to. "Mike! The phone!" Karen called to him. "Alright!" he yelled back and picked up the phone from his room. "Hi." he said. "Hey, Mike." a voice said, and he recognized it as Wills. "Oh hey Will, what's up?" "Lucas and Dustin are coming over to my place tonight, do you want to come?" he asked. "Yeah sure, what time?" Mike replied. "I don't know, maybe 7?" Will said. "Okay, I'll be there." Mike answered. "See you later." Will said. "Bye." Mike replied, and hung up. "Mom, I'm going to Wills tonight!" He hollered to his mother. "I know!" She yelled back. "How many times? Stop listening to my calls!" He shouted back, and rolled his eyes. At 7, he rode his bike over to the Byers' house. Lucas and Dustin had already arrived, and were arranging an array of snacks for the night. "Hey guys!" Mike said, walking into Wills bedroom. "Dude, what took you so long?" asked Lucas. "It's 7 smart ass." Dustin said. "Yeah, these two were early." Will stated. "So what are we doing tonight?" Mike asked. "Well Lucas got Back To The Future on VHS, so we were gonna watch that." Will said. The boys finished the movie around 12, as they didn't start it until about 9:30. They were now setting up sleeping bags. "Hey Mike?" Lucas said. "Yeah?" Mike answered. "What were you talking about with Max today?" Mike knew exactly what he was talking about. "What do you mean?" He replied. "Mike, don't play stupid we all heard it." Lucas said. "Chill Lucas." Will said. "You said to Max that she told your mom something, and that you confided in her." Dustin stated. "Oh um, that was nothing." Mike was getting anxious now. "What happened to friends don't lie?" Lucas said. "Fine, okay. You really want to know?" Mike was getting frustrated now. "Yes!" Lucas and Dustin said, as Will didn't hear him say it. "I was talking to her about El." He confessed. "Okay, but why was it such a big deal that she told your mom." Lucas questioned. "Are you depressed?" Dustin teased. Mike looked at the floor. "You are?" Will said, looking around at the others. "No! I don't know. I just told Max that I was sad." Mike said, shrugging. "I still don't understand why it's a problem that your mom found out." Lucas pressured. "Can we PLEASE stop talking about this?" Mike pleaded. "Well if we can't get answers from you we'll get them from Max!" Dustin stated, and grabbed Wills super-comm and found the right channel. "Max do you copy? It's Dustin." He said into the super-comm. "Yeah, what's up?" she answered. "Well we were just asking Mike here what he confided you, and we don't think he's telling the full truth!" Lucas said. "Oh, He just said he felt pointless, like there was no point to continuing." Max answered. "Holy shit, I can't believe you Max!" Mike said, his face buried in his hands. All of the boys were looking at Mike now. "Bye Max." Dustin said, and shut off the super-comm. "Happy?" Mike said. "It's a big deal because my mom took me to a therapist." Dustin and Lucas started to laugh. "It's not funny." Will stated. Mike looked at Will and made a hand gesture. "Thank you!" He said. "No really, it isn't. You're laughing at him for having feelings over his dead girlfriend, and talking to someone about it." Will and Mike glared at them. "Okay, sorry." Dustin said. "Yeah, sorry." Lucas chimed in. "I'm going to sleep now assholes." Mike said, and turned out the light.
