Next day, He saw Osamu leave the room at 5 am. "Work?" Sakusa asked when they saw each other on the hallway. "Yeah, I need to open it by 6 am." He said groggily while rubbing his eyes, yawning. The bottom of his eyes, and nose were tinted red. Probably because of crying. "Here, have some coffee." Sakusa offered as he tossed Osamu the can of cold coffee he just bought a minute ago in the vending machine.
"Sorry, I only drink cold coffees." Sakusa apologized in case Osamu didn't want to start his day with a cold coffee. "It's okay, I'm in the mood for somethin' cold anyway." Osamu said as he opened it. "Thanks a lot, I'm goin' now." Osamu said as he went pass him.
"Also, I ran an onigiri shop, so if ya like some for later when I come back, feel free to lemme know." Osamu added as he stopped on his tracks. Sakusa looked at him suspiciously and Osamu immediately laughed. "It's free, don't worry. HAHAHA I ain't gonna advertise my shop here!" Osamu said as he wiped a bit of tears from his laugter.
"Okay sure, a curry one, I guess." Sakusa answered as he looked down. "Okay, noted!" Osamu said as he waved goodbye. "Later, Ah wait! Uhh what's yer name again?" Osamu asked bashfully as he scratched the back of his neck.
"Sakusa Kiyoomi. Call me anything, I don't really care." Sakusa answered as he placed his hand in his pockets. "Okay then, later Sakusa-san." Osamu answered as he waved goodbye again.
Kansai Dialect, huh?
Later at 8 am, he checked at Atsumu and saw him already sitting on the bed. "So you're already awake." Sakusa said, grabbing Atsumu's attention. "Well yeah." Atsumu said, still looking at the window.
"Say, is it that bad?" Atsumu started, still not bothering to look at him. "Last night, I heard 'Samu cryin'. I was awake for a bit, and it was the most painful moment of my life." Atsumu said sadly, while hugging his knees. His back curved a little, as he leaned his chin on his knees.
"Did he tell you anything?" Sakusa asked as he leaned on the wall, while crossing his arms. "No, he didn't know I was awake." Atsumu drifted off. "Hmm.." Sakusa hummed in response as he looked at anywhere else that is not Atsumu, finding the situation awkward.
Atsumu sighed as he looked at him with a smile, "So it is bad, huh?". Sakusa felt a pang of guilt in his chest, yet he ignored it for now. It was quiet for a while. It was actually suffocating.
"Soo,, what's yer name?" Atsumu asked breaking the silence. "Sakusa Kiyoomi. Why do you ask?" Sakusa said as he removed his arms from being crossed, and moved towards him.
"Ye'r my doctor, of course I haf'ta know." Atsumu said as he looked at Sakusa. He stared for a while then smiled. "Omi-Omi!" He suddenly shouted. "From now on, I'll call ya Omi-Omi!" He grinned happily as he stretched.
"Huh?" Sakusa said quite irritated. "You can only call me Doctor or Sakusa-san. I don't want nicknames." Sakusa said as he rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Oh c'mon, it's just a name, it won't hurt ya~" Atsumu teased.
"You--" Sakusa was cut off when another doctor hastily opened the door. "Sakusa-san, quick! We're losing the patient in room 15!!" He said alarmed. He didn't wait for Sakusa's response and quickly ran off, Sakusa following from behind.
"Wow, he's so busy." Atsumu said as he sighed and lied down, immediately closing his eyes. "Guess I'm goin' to sleep for now."
When Sakusa finished doing the surgery on the patient of room 15, was when he realized he just talked to a patient for the first time.
Then, a week passed. His disease was slowly getting worse. His speech slurred. It wasn't like Kansai Dialect, because the way he speak that is cute. But this is not, it's something unpleasant to hear.
Osamu brings Atsumu fat tuna onigiris everyday, that he was afraid he'll eventually hate the taste of it, so he began bringing other flavors and other foods too.
"So, how are ya?" Osamu asked for the 15th time. He comes twice a day, before he goes to work and after. Atsumu rolled his eyes and hid underneath the covers.
"It's borin'. My feet are already SO numb. I haven't left this bed for a whole week. Just times when I haf'ta go to the bathroom, but other than that, am always here." Atsumu complained. Osamu can see his brother's look in his mind while he was saying it. His structure of sentences were getting worse every day.
Osamu chuckled a bit. "It must have sucks to be ya." Osamu smiled bitterly as he removed the bedsheets from Atsumu.
"Totally. Can't even speak right 'nymore. See?" Atsumu said annoyed, as he hit the bedsheets hardly.
"Don't worry, I'm sure there's a way ya will get back to normal again." Osamu said reassuringly as he took out a tupperware of rice and curry. "Pretty sure ye'r tired of seeing onigiris again and again so here, have a proper meal." Osamu said as he shoved both tupperwares to Atsumu.
"Woah nice! Am gonna lie if say didn't miss this!" His big smile faded as it turns to a frown. "Think won't speak for now." Atsumu said as his eyebrows furrowed to a knot. "Hate this. Absolutely." Atsumu said as he hit his mouth. "Won't ya get better soon?" He asked furiously to his own mouth.
"Tsumu, that won't help anythin'" Osamu snickered as he looked away. "Look, this serious, kay? I hate this. Don't laugh 't me!" Atsumu yelled as he glared at Osamu. "Sorry sorry, but the way ya speak is just so hilarious." Osamu said as he laughed more loudly.
"I'll frickin kill ya" Atsumu said with a deadly glare. "Okay okay, I'll stop."
But inside Osamu wanted to stab his ears. He didn't want to hear Atsumu like this. It was painful. It was telling him in the face that his brother's disease was only getting worse.
