~Edited chapter. WHY THE HECK DID I USED TO WRITE SUCH SMALL CHAPTERS!? That drives me CRAZY when others do it, why did I do it? BAD 12 YEAR OLD BETH!
Sorry for that. Now go read the very short chapter >>~
Later that day, we were led out of the stables and into the pasture with the foals. Amber, Sunshine and Sky prance around, whinnying happily, copying their parents. We had practiced dressage the other day, and they had surprised us by doing their own form of dressage. They were doing it again in the late afternoon light, only less clumsy then yesterday.
Scarlet nuzzled Aztec and smiled at Amber, who was leading the line was frolicking foals.
Button and Sunburst were cuddling together in a corner, quietly watching Sunshine.
Chili and Calypso quietly laughed at Sky, who couldn't stop tripping over her own hooves.
Jimber grazes near me, still eyeing me to make sure I was okay. I graze, and watch him when he isn't looking. His buckskin fur gleamed in the light. His black highlights looked shiny. He had gentle eyes and a small smile.
As he chewed grass, he looked up at me, I look up at him.
"Can I help you?" I ask, finishing off my mouthful of grass.
"No." he answered. "What? I can't look at you?" I glare at him, and give him one of my smug smiles.
"No. You can't." I answer, swishing my tail. He scowls.
"Fine." He says, turning so I am face to face with his tail. I trot over by Chili, and we happily graze together, laughing at Calypso's corny jokes. All the while, I feel eyes on me.
It's not until after back in our stalls that I realize that it was Jimber who was still looking at me while I hung out with Chili and Calypso. Did he like me? Why? I was such a jerk when I was younger. Shouldn't he despise me?
Whatever the reason for his staring, I shrug it off. It's not like he would ever like me.
