~Edited chapter.~

Late that night, I hear the hooves clattering on the barn floor. I awake from my dreams, and look out of my stall door. Jimber spooks me. He stands there on the other side of my door, staring at me. I rear.

"What are you doing?" I whisper yell.

"I-I don't know." he responds. "I couldn't sleep. I didn't know what to do, I just needed to get out of my stall."

"So you came to my stall?" I say.

"Yea." he responds, looking down. Even when he was upset, or getting yelled at, he was still so cute. "Sorry for waking you."

"It's okay." I step forward, pushing the top part of my stall door open, so I don't have to look through the bars. He leans in, closer to me. My heart stops.  I lean in to him, and he nuzzles me.

I had seen humans 'kiss' before. Horses can't kiss. At least not with lips. Instead horses nuzzle, which is our form of kissing. That's what Jimber and I did.

Best. Night. Ever.

When we split, we stand there in the dark, looking at each other. Owls hoot outside. Tinney snores.

"That-that-that...." I try to talk, but can't. I'm shook up from excitement. My heart is pounding. Is it warm in here? It suddenly feels very warm.

"Um..." Jimber says. "Surprisingly, in my old age, I have never kissed a mare before." He says.

"Well. I've never kissed a stallion." I admit. He nuzzles me once more before returning to his stall.

"Goodnight." He whinny's.

"Goodnight." I say, drifting off back into my slumber.
