Tap.

Asher rolled over in bed, pulling his pillow over his head. He groaned at the interruption of sleep. It felt like he had only just barely fallen asleep. Not to mention, he had baseball practice in the morning that he couldn't afford to miss.

Tap.

He sat up slowly, blinking his bleary eyes in the dark. The sound was loud and sharp, coming from somewhere nearby. He swung his legs off the bed and looked around his dorm room, squinting. The digital clock on his nightstand read 2:46. "What the fuck?" he grumbled, rubbing at his eyes with a palm.

Tap tap tap.

It was coming from the window. He looked over and almost jumped to see a dark figure sitting at the glass. It motioned for him to open the pane.

Asher considered his options for a quick moment before moving to the window, bending down, and lifting the glass. Now, at this closer distance, he could see the face of the figure. It was the soft, angular features of Liam North, the owner of the dorm across the hall.

Liam grinned, leaning against the window pane. "Hey Asher," he whispered.

"Liam, it's three in the goddamn morning," Asher hissed back. "What are you doing?"

Liam gave Asher a guilty smile. "I lost my keys at the bar, I couldn't get in the building."

Asher groaned. He stepped away from the window and motioned for Liam to crawl through. "Alright, come on."

Liam's torso made it through the window without hazard, but as he brought his right leg up, his foot caught the ledge. He tumbled forward quickly, nearly face planting on Asher's rug. Asher stepped forward, catching Liam by the shoulder just before his nose made contact with the blue fibers. He helped Liam through the window the rest of the way before shutting it again.

Brushing his clothes off, Liam straightened up and looked around Asher's small room.

Asher watched him, becoming very aware of the very attractive boy standing a few feet from him. He also became very conscious of his choice to sleep shirtless. He nodded awkwardly at the door. "I don't know how you're getting into your dorm without keys," he said quietly.

Liam paused, thinking to himself for a moment. "I didn't think about that."

Asher laughed awkwardly. "Of course you didn't." He rocked back and forth on his heels, his fingers twisting together behind his back. He wasn't tired anymore. He was nervous. So incredibly nervous.

Liam turned where he stood, swaying slightly. He opened his mouth to say something, but paused. He frowned at Asher. "Are you okay?"

Ashed nodded dumbly. "I'm good," he whispered hoarsely.

Liam frowned more, stepping closer to Asher. Shit. The closer he stood, the more details Asher could make out in the dim light. Liam was very handsome, but at this distance he was downright gorgeous. His dark hair faded into bleached tips at the end of the short dreads, the sides cropped short and tight. His features were angular, all pulled upwards in a feline manner. Hazel eyes blinked in and out of view under his long lashes. Draped on his lithe frame was a dark shirt with a loud geometric pattern that made Asher dizzy. He smelled like something impossible to place. It was floral and earthy, warm and inviting and comfortable.

Liam looked Asher up and down. His expression was hard to see in the dim light. He stepped closer to Asher again, which left them quite close in the small quarters. When he spoke, Asher could faintly smell something peachy on his breath. "I don't blame you, you know. If I could keep it a secret, I would too."

Asher's mouth went dry. His stomach was doing flips. "Keep what a secret?" he asked, barely above a whisper.

Liam laughed softly, touching Asher's arm. It felt like an electric shock. "I know you're gay, Asher."

He wasn't sure when, but Asher realized he had stopped breathing.

Liam's hand slid down Asher's arm slowly. "I won't tell anyone, don't worry."

Asher wanted to say about twenty different things, but his brain couldn't seem to make his mouth move, so he just stood there.

Liam looked up at Asher, barely a breath away now. "I like you, you know."

Asher chewed on the inside of his cheek nervously. If there was ever a time to be brave, it was now. The universe had brought the gorgeous boy from his English class into his room in the middle of the night. Asher didn't think of himself as very bright, but even he wasn't that dumb. It had been so long since he'd even looked at another boy twice; he had been hung up on Cameron for years. This was it. He grabbed Liam on either side of his face and kissed him.

Liam didn't hesitate, even for a moment. His arms were around Asher's neck in an instant, pulling his body up against Asher's. He let his arms slide down slightly, one resting on Asher's shoulder, while the other ghosted along Asher's cheek.

This was far from Asher's first kiss. He had probably kissed Rachel a hundred times in school to maintain their cover. But here and now, he couldn't help but feel like he had never been kissed before. Liam completely invaded all of Asher's senses. It was impossible to think about anything except the way Liam's soft lips felt against his own, the feeling of Liam's fingertips gently tracing along his jawline, the way he wanted to freeze time and live inside this moment for the rest of his life.

Liam pushed forward on Asher slightly, encouraging him to sit back on his bed. Asher complied without resistance, and was rewarded when Liam sat on his lap, facing him. His arms wrapped around Asher's shoulders. "This okay?"

Asher nodded a little too quickly.

Liam laughed softly, returning his lips to Asher's.

Asher rested his hands on Liam's waist, pulling their bodies a little closer. Liam shifted in his lap, earning a small gasp from Asher. He could feel Liam's lips pull into a smirk.

Liam moved painfully slowly and began kissing across Asher's jaw. Asher let out a slow breath. He was feeling lightheaded, practically intoxicated and it was incredible. He slid a hand up the back of Liam's shirt slowly, feeling each dip and curve of his spine. Liam shivered, his hips twisting again.

Liam was at his neck now. He breathed out, the warm air giving Asher goosebumps. His tongue slid across Asher's skin as he worked his way down his neck.

Asher ducked his head down, catching Liam's lips with his own again. Moving his hand from Liam's spine to wrap around his waist, he flipped him gently onto the mattress. Asher hovered above him now, watching Liam's face in the dim light. Liam grabbed Asher behind the neck and pulled him down, kissing him hard. His mouth tasted like peach schnapps.

Asher did not make it to baseball practice.
