"So..." Asher looked at his father sadly. "They're not coming."
"I'm so sorry, matok." Leo pulled his son into a hug.
Asher patted his father a few times on the back. "Hey, it's okay." He put on a grin, as best as he could. "I'm getting married today!" He choked on a laugh.
Goose approached him from across the room. "Fuck that." He winced. "Sorry, Mr. Bernstein."
Leo laughed and waved him off.
Goose threw his arm around Asher and led him to the window, overlooking the beautiful property. "Look at this shit, dude. You're getting married out there today."
Asher let out a nervous breath as he looked at the rows of white chairs on the lawn. People were milling around, starting to find their seats. He would be standing up there in twenty minutes. Just twenty minutes and he would be married.
Goose adjusted Asher's tie for him, and brushed off his shoulders.
Asher nodded, and smiled at his friend. "I'm ready." And he was.
