Soonyoung opened the door to Jihoon's room, and there it revealed Jisoo, Seokmin and Chaejin who looked like they just woke up. There were agitation on their faces, along with disappointment and a little hint of rage.

"H-Hyung, I-I'm sorry. . ." Jihoon whispered, but then Soonyoung pulled him back and stepped in front him so he'd hide Jihoon behind him.

Jihoon blinked. . . Soonyoung has done that to him before. Soonyoung has done that for so many times whenever they got into trouble and whenever Jihoon has to explain his side. Soonyoung would always hide Jihoon and stand in front as if protecting him. And in behalf of Jihoon, he would be the one to talk.

Jihoon felt thumps in his chest at that. Soonyoung might have forgotten him, but Soonyoung never changed. He was still the same Soonyoung who puts Jihoon into consideration as always, who thinks of Jihoon first before anything else, who protects Jihoon, who stands up for Jihoon, and who takes care of Jihoon. He might have forgotten. . . but he still has the ability to know what Jihoon needs most, whether it's Soonyoung's silence or Soonyoung's words.

And right now, Soonyoung knows he has to talk for Jihoon. "It's my fault," Soonyoung said. "It was my idea to sneak out, it was all on me. I'm sorry," he added and Jihoon felt guilty that Soonyoung had to lie for him when they both know it was Jihoon who invited Soonyoung out.

Jihoon held Soonyoung's hand tighter and squeezed himself against Soonyoung's back. "S-Soonyoung. . ."

Soonyoung pumped his hand once to shut him up and to tell him he got it under control. "I'm really sorry, hyung. . . but I can't let you take Jihoon away anymore. It's not yours to decide where we choose to be and who we choose to be with."

"You don't get it, do you?" Jisoo asked and stood up from the sofa. "You sneaked out! Do you even understand how dangerous it is to be outside? And Jihoon, you ought to know that better than anyone else in this room does! We're not in a safe place anymore, do you get me?!"

"Why, hyung? Do you have any ideas better than sneaking out when we're both not allowed to see each other?" Soonyoung asked and raised a brow.

"S-Soonyoung, d-don't talk back," Jihoon told him.

"I don't get it," Soonyoung said, shaking his head. "I don't get why you hate me so much that you won't even let me see him when you all know we want to be beside each other. Am I missing something, hyung? Is there something I don't know?"

"Something you don't know?" Jisoo echoed and scoffed. "A lot, Soonyoung. There's a lot that you don't know. You hurt Jihoon, do you hear me? You hurt Jihoon over and over again, and I don't want him to get close to you unless you figure out how to fix this up. And Soonyoung, Jihoon's so close to leaving this hospital but you opened up that damn cut in his wrist again just because both of you are being so reckless! Do you still think I'd let him see you? Do you really think I would still let you see him? No, Soonyoung."

Soonyoung gulped in surprise. So he really did something, didn't he? But what did he do that Jisoo had to take such an action on them? How serious was it that Jisoo has been too strict on them? How painful did Soonyoung do to Jihoon?

That shut Soonyoung up. Suddenly, he felt guilt. How dare he find comfort and happiness in Jihoon when he's hurt Jihoon before? How dare he ask Jihoon to stay with him when he hurt Jihoon before? And how dare Soonyoung find the guts to be happy with Jihoon when he isn't even sure if Jihoon is happy with him too?

"So leave now," Jisoo told Soonyoung in gritted teeth. "Leave Jihoon alone."

Jihoon felt tears in his eyes when Soonyoung let go of his hand. Soonyoung turned around then Jihoon looked up to him, only to see so much sorry and puzzlement in his narrow eyes.
