"Hey what's this?" He says as he pulls my iPod charger from my bag. All of art class and now after school teasing me, his friend had already made fun of him for flirting for an hour. Although, I can't say that I hated the attention.
"Wha- what the heck?" He says.
I now realize he had been digging through my bag for a while to find my iPod stuff in bags within bags.
"Hey! Give it back jerk!" I yell as I reach down to grab it, just as he is pulling stuff from it to his spot on the ground. "Seriously, give it to me." I wine. "Now."
After a bit more scream/begging he gives it back. "Hey, Kay." I look over and see what is in his hand. My eyes widen. It may or may not have been filled with some lady-things I didn't need him to see--or so I thought.
"What the hell Gale?!" I almost scream. "Stop taking all my stuff!" I grab the bag as he pulls out my phone which I after yelling a bit more he gives up. Once I get the bag among other things back, I realize it was merely the bag with my chargers in it--no lady-stuff here. After that time I move my stuff over. Of corse my friend had to suggest it to me.
Gale stands up and stops in front of the seat below my feet. "Move your feet."
"No." I reply. I was all comfy leaning against the wall, my feet propped up on the seat. He lightly pushes my feet down. "Hey!" I protest.
He sits down next to me, pushing my mess on the table aside. "Why is all this here?" He asks.
"I don't like putting everything down neatly." I say, "it takes too much work, and I'm lazy."
Cole comes over and starts to talk to me, and gets blocked off by Gale as he too, starts talking. As Gale continues, Cole gives him a small indescribable look. Jealousy? No, can't be. Then he jokingly pushes Gale and makes an embarrassing comment on what Gale just said. Gale gets up and chases him a bit and before you know it Cole has sat down in Gale's seat next to me. He stops laughing and facing me, begins to talk just as Gale attempts to shove him off.
The whole time I sit here next to my friend, Nadia. I really kinda do like the attention, I find it cute. Cole is finally shoved off the seat and Gale sits down already speaking. During most of the time Cole stands there beside Gale and me commenting occasionally.
I start to play on my iPod still listening, but soon there is nothing to listen to. Looking over I see Gale quickly look away.
"What?" I say.
"What what?" He says with a shy smile.
I look away again and see him staring from the corner of my eye.
"Stop!" I say playfully.
"Stop what?" He replies with a hint of a smile in his eyes.
"Staring at me." He just looks at me saying nothing. His face serious.
He moves a little closer to me and starts to bring his face almost unnoticeably to mine. I back my head away as he does. It won't happen, I don't like him like that. "Stop." I say quietly. Yet he continues reaching his hand slowly to my face.
The jealous look that was on Cole's face until now fades into something else. I turn my head away. Cole is now behind Gale. He grabs Gale's arm just as his hand brushes my face.
"Leave her alone." He says firmly.
"No. Why don't you leave her alone." Gale replies.
"Seriously dude, she obviously wants you to leave her alone." But Gale just turns back to me. My eyes tear up a bit as I turn my head. "Stop leave her alone already!" He repeats grabbing Gale and pulling him away. Gale just stands there fuming.
Cole reaches over pulling me gently from my seat and holds me closer to him as Gale tries again to reach me. I turn my head and drown my face in his shoulder. My friend Nadia had already left so we walk away to the opposite corner of room.
I sit there next to Cole in a small hug, his strong arm around me.
I look up, tears in my eyes. "Thank you." I say weakly.
"Don't thank me, he shouldn't have done that." I look into his deep brown eyes, and bring my face to his. His hands resting on my shoulder blades and mine on the back of his neck. The feeling of his lips pressed softly against mine brings butterflies into my stomach.
I look into his eyes once more, and I see him looking back. He seems happy, and so am I.
