As I crumple up that little piece of paper, I think. What if he says no? What if that was a mistake? What if- no I have to try. Yet the words on that paper were few, Meet me at the park. 3:45pm, -Kay

I clear my throat and he looks over across a row of desks. A faint, shy smile, on his face. Casually bringing my hand to my face I show him the note. He nods and when the teacher turns I toss the paper. Dropping his pencil purposely, he reaches down grabbing the pencil and my note.

Suddenly, I hear a tiny plop on my desk. It's another note. I look up to see Cole working, but with a mischievous grin on his face. The note, now in my hand, is small. I unfold it, and read:

The tree.

Is all it says. But I know what it means.

I look up just as I finish my homework. It's, 3:40! Grabbing my helmet I rush out the door. Still in my tee. If I hurry I can make it on bike in four minutes.

I pedal so much that my legs burn and my breath is gone. But, I continue, hoping I don't sweat through my deodorant.

I see Cole just as he walks out his door, on the other side of the park. My bike and helmet hit the ground with a-thud- as I jump off at a running pace toward the edge of the woods. This is where a huge oak tree sits. Absolutely perfect as a hang out place.

Cole waves at me just as I take my hands away from fixing my hair and outfit, and wave back. When he reaches me, I smile.

"Hey." I say.

"Hey." He replies. "Wanna sit up there?" He asks, pointing to a branch on the tree.

"Sure."

He climbs up to the low branch with ease. I am about six inches shorter than him as he is five six. This makes it slightly more difficult for me to get up. Cole must've noticed, because he grabs my hand and helps me up. Sending a tingling sensation down my arm.

Once I am up we just sit there, then he clears his throat.

"Was that, your, uh..." he stops a bit. "First kiss."

I immediately feel my cheeks burning. I feel so stupid, he must've kissed a ton of girls, and I'm here like, well my list is uh, up to one.

"Yeah." I reply shyly, looking down. But, then I here him sigh in relief.

"Oh thank god! I was afraid it was just me." My shoulders un-tense. I smile and look up at him, his strong features, beautiful. His face is somewhere in the direct middle of, chubby, and skin and bones. His almost black, but brown hair going perfectly with his dark brown eyes, which hide a hint of gold. The muscles on him aren't buff but more like lean, making him look strong but also a little skinny.

I shiver as a breeze sweeps by.

"Oh here." Says Cole, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around me.

"No you'll be cold!" I protest. But he won't have it.

He starts to shiver so I scoot over and wrap one half around him, keeping the other on me. I feel a warm sensation on my cheek as I am given a kiss.

"There's another kiss, so now you've had two." He says with a smile.

I look up. "That doesn't count as, "first kiss," material, so it can't be added to the amount." I say making a bad joke.

He looks at me smiling, then bends his neck. And explosion of fireworks, works it's way around me as our lips connect.

I rest my head on his shoulder.

"So what do we do?" I ask.

"About what?" He replies.

"Us, like in public."

"I think we should keep this between us for now." He says. The smile on my face starts to fade. "But," he continues, "we should try to meet up as much as possible."

"Okay." I say, the smile returning.

After a while more of talking we hop off the tree and go home. I hear him just as I am getting on my bike.

"I have a surprise for you Saturday. Meet me back here by the tree at eight!" I start to open my mouth as he continues. "And you have to come, please!" I smile, nod, and wave, he jogs off to his house.

Once I am home I eat and plop down on my bed to sleep.
