Archie

Earlier at the party

I think if Levi would have warned me about the size of this party beforehand I wouldn't have been so overwhelmed. I know the parties in Albright are big, but I was not expecting this. Levi could say this party was to welcome me back, but I'm positive that was an after-thought. I knew a handful of people at this party, and not many knew who I was. I didn't mind though. I wanted to be in a new environment with new people.

Levi's parent's house looked like a modern museum littered with red cups, strobbing lights, and people from all walks of life. It was the kind of party that was perfect to blend in. I didn't want to stand out. No time was wasted getting to know the beer and other goodies at the party. First thing I did was grab a red cup and fill it up to the brim with whatever the keg was providing. Levi then brought me into the living room where a group of girls were sitting, taking turns with a bag of cocaine. I'm no stranger to parties. Back home I was known to hold my own with drugs and alcohol. With Sarah by my side, none of this was out the ordinary. But ever since she's been gone, party environments were a big foreign to me.

But I knew it would be like riding a bicycle. I just needed to ease myself back into it. Not knowing what to expect, I only did one line, making sure to stay at least a bit aware the rest of the night.

"Archie, look" Levi pulled me down onto the couch next to him and points at a brunette sitting to his left. "This is Rose. I've been talking to her about you and she's excited to meet you." He grins at me and switches spots with me, placing me in between him and Rose.

"Hey!" she smiles. "I'm glad you're here."

"Thanks" I smiled back as I extended my hand for her to shake. "Archer". I introduced myself.

She smirked and shook my hand "I thought it was Archie".

"If you want it to be" I flirted with her.

Cute is the best word to describe Rose. Petite, killer smile, sultry eyes, and long brunette hair. Her tan skin was proof of her local status. The last thing I am going to do right now is complain about a beautiful girl smiling at me.

Between the beers, small talk, and the good-looking girls hanging around, the night was passing by quicker than I expected. It was the first time in a while my mind wasn't focused on Sarah. I didn't want to think about that too much or guilt would come over me. It wasn't long before my bladder was begging me to be drained which then led to the realization that this house was too big for me to know where the bathroom was.

"Levi. I need to piss, man. Where is the closest bathroom." I asked.

He tried to give me directions to a bathroom but it sounded more like a Nintendo cheat code. Seeing the confusion on my face he stood up and laughed.

"Come on," he said putting his arm around then leading me through the next few rooms until he pushed me into the much-desired bathroom.

I swear I probably peed for five minutes straight. It wasn't until I washed my hands and looked in the mirror that I realized I was a little tipsy. A smile sitting on my face, a rare sight. I stepped into the hallway and was surprised to see Levi waiting for me with two cups in hand.

"Dude," he said as he pushed a drink into my hand "I thought you passed out in there."

He led me through the hallways until he was suddenly stopped by a girl looking for him. It doesn't surprise me that girls flock to Levi. I mean, I'm as straight as can be but I am not too proud to admit that Levi is a good-looking dude.
