Two weeks past and Annabeth was all settled into her classes. She got along well with Percy's friends, they all sat together at lunch and hung out a few times outside of school. Percy would leave during the week, but spend a lot of his time at their apartment, and come back for the weekends. She grew closer to Anna, from their lunch table and they talked about Oceanography class. Annabeth enjoyed her classes and made some new friends outside of the group. One of which being Matthew, Anna's 'friend', who was also in Annabeth's PE class.

When Annabeth had arrived at Goode, Matthew had filled her in about the 'adventure unit' that Goode implemented into gym class. It consisted of a series of challenges leading up to a big one that would be revealed the day of. Today, during sixth period PE, was that day.

"I know you guys have been anxious to find out what this years challenge is." The teacher, a large middle aged man with brown hair and a beard, started. "Were going to be doing a blindfolded exercise. You will be strapped in, blindfolded, then you will climb the rock wall. You won't remove the blindfold until you come back down." He gestured to a wall of colorful hand and footholds around him.

Annabeth's heart fluttered, she'd never been able to climb the rock wall at camp blindfolded, for fear that the lava would fall down on her because she couldn't see. Her classmates whispered excitedly.

The teacher held his hand up for silence. "We will go alphabetically. Which means Annabeth Chase, you're up first."

After they had strapped her in and blindfolded her tightly, she was given the okay to start. She wasn't worried about the straps, not being tight enough. She knew she could do it fine, plus, this wall was much smaller than the one at CHB. She stepped forward, feeling around for a handhold and began her climb.

She only stumbled a couple times. The real challenge was the footholds, she couldn't exactly reach out and lean her weight on a hold that wasn't there. But she made it through quickly, creating a mental map of the wall in her head. When she reached the small wooden platform on the top. She yelled out, "What now?"

She heard the voice of her teacher call back to her. "You can just fall down, don't worry the ropes will slow your fall."

She wasn't nervous, so she sat on the ledge of the wooden platform and pushed herself down, still not being able to see anything.

The ropes did slow her fall, but not much. As Annabeth fell in the darkness, a wave of emotion rushed over her.

Memories from Percy and her trip to Tartarus filled her brain, starting from the endless fall in the dark, towards the pit. She saw the River Phlegethon, burning brightly, scorching her face and her throat as she drank. She saw the blistering pimples where monsters had emerged from. She saw Percys frightening face, as he suffocated the goddess of misery. She saw the face of Tartarus himself, sucking away her life force. She saw Bob and Damasen fighting helplessly as the elevator doors shut.

Annabeth hit the ground softly and crumpled. She ripped her blindfold off and burst into tears. After shakily struggling with her harness for a moment, she ran out the door. Her knees were weak as she stumbled a few yards and collapsed behind a trashcan up against the door.

She shakily lifted her watch. The image of Percy suffocating Achlys, a wave of poison barreling towards her, the water in her body, filling her throat. She saw his eyes filled with maniacal rage, twisting his open, tense hands around as the goddess crumpled.

She decided to signal him anyways. She didn't have the strength to pull out her phone and text Piper, so she sent a simple message in red to Percy: help.

She continued to cry and shaking involuntarily. Images searing into her brain, making her cry harder until barely any sound came out.

Finally, Percy appeared from around the corner. He was running, a worried expression filled his face as he glanced down at his phone, tracking her. When he saw her, he immediately rushed forward and dropped to the ground beside her. His warm strong arms held her as she buried her face into his chest and cried. She tried to steady her breathing but couldn't. She tried to stop shaking, but couldn't. She tried to clear her mind, but couldn't. She shook harder, trying to pull herself together. She wasn't just sobbing, she was having a full panic attack.
