I was looking through my notes on different kinds of rituals and the 'how to's' for making spells. I rub my eyes as I look down at the words, the stone to conduct the magic wasn't incredibly hard to discover but finding one that is pure and not made of glass which hopefully won't be an issue.
Healing Crystals: Amethysts- protect the mind and said to have incredible protective healing and purifying properties. Stone to use as part of base spell?
Sacrifice: use Esther as the sacrifice to end the mind connection. How? Summon her? Can you even fully kill a ghost? Banish her? *Find ghost killer weapon*
Sigil of Protection for Alaric: protection from evil and Guard Against Evil Spirits (He will stand there), burn sigil into ground? Make Salt line? Or Grass paint?
Spirit trap- Sigil : to keep Esther in her place once summoned. Would it work?
How to permanently remove Esther? Sea salt? Black candles? Pentagram? Which spell/spells? Thyme? Sage? All of them together?
I let out a muffled sigh of frustration and rub my eyelid with the back of my hand before turning back to my notebook. This better fucking work. I don't think that Esther is much for second chances, unless she decides to come back just to be a bitch. I hear Damon open the door then, his footsteps slowly reaching the bed as I glare at paper in front of me.
"What are you doing Care?" Damon asks quietly as he sits on the bed beside me and I cover the notebook I'm writing in.
I just shrug, he sits beside me and gently bumps my shoulder. Glancing at him he asks me simply. "Tell me?"
"This can't leave this room." I tell him quietly. "It isn't safe.". Not yet anyways.
Our eyes focus on each other for awhile, his blue eyes clashing with mine when he nods now looking solemn. "Alright."
Looking into his eyes then I bite my lip and then ask him a bit timidly as I begin to fiddle with my pencil. "You know Alaric's mind issue?"
"Yes?" He asks cautiously and he frowns at me, other then talking about it before he could kill him the first time and then when Alaric started forgetting things I've made sure to ignore the topic with almost everyone. It's best to avoid talking about that bitch until I start can removing her.
I swallow thickly and tell him honesty, pushing my fears to the side for now. Now is not the time for that. It doesn't do to dwell in fears of failure. I got this, I can do this, Alaric doesn't have to die or anything like that. "I'm going to fix it before— before it gets .."
Damon's face is serious as he interrupts me "Will he die?"
"Originally yeah, first becoming a super vamp killing vamp and then permanently dead. That's part of the problem." I say with a sigh as I grip my hair for a second before letting go of it. "Remember when I told you not to kill him otherwise he might go a little bit crazy or how I told him that I plan to help fix his craziness?"
All of which Alaric and Damon seemed to have found subtlety amusing at the time when I first mentioned it.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
Then again I never would've expected to have started a weird tentative friendship with Elena Gilbert either. I don't trust her right now though. Could she become a person I trust? Maybe, but that would be even weirder.
Damon's eyes widen then and he whispers barely audible as he thinks to the conversation we had with Alaric last week. "The ring, that's why you mentioned it. But then you completely stopped, you didn't elaborate or tell him to shut up and listen. You didn't tell me. ."
