"I had gone to the hospital because I had become sick. I was in the waiting area when I saw a body on a stretcher being rushed through the waiting room and down the hallway. People were yelling and screaming as they followed behind you, and that's when I noticed a familiar face, but I couldn't figure out who it was at the time," Emily begins.

"My mom?" I ask, referring to the familiar person she saw.

"No, not at first. It was actually Alex."

My eyes grow big, "Alex? Really?"

So that's why he was being so nice to me earlier. He knew what had happened. Why didn't he say anything? I think to myself, still in disbelief.

"Are you sure it was him?" I ask her and she nods.

"I don't ever forget a face. It was him. I had seen him at Noah's games beforehand, and remembered him at first glance. But Mag-Gag, you looked awful. You were unconscious, and soaked in blood. Your bone was sticking out of your leg! It was disgusting, but I couldn't help but become curious. Alex was following behind the medical staff that were moving you down the hallway. He was on the phone with someone, I wasn't sure who it was, but then they were too far down the hallway and I couldn't see you anymore."

"Then what happened? That can't be it. You couldn't have recognized me just from that."

"I'm getting to that part," she says and then sticks her tongue out at me, but I don't return the gesture, I was still trying to wrap my head around all of this. I had never thought about what had happened immediately after I had jumped. I had presumed that some stranger had spotted me falling and called 911.

"Anyways," she continues, "That wasn't the last time I saw you."

"You're kidding."

"Why would I joke about this?"

"Alright. Continue."

"Anyways. Since I was badly sick, they had me stay in the Emergency room too, but just for a few days. But I got bored in that stupid room, so I decided to roam around. I wasn't supposed to, but I did. While walking around the hallways, I had heard someone crying. I decided to snoop through the door window, and I saw your mom, and your sister, and Ethan. I didn't realize it was you at the time, until Ethan spotted me through the window. His eyes were all red and puffy, it made me sad just to look at him. I looked away and quickly started to walk off because I was embarrassed that he had just seen me. I mean, wouldn't you be embarrassed if you had a cute boy just notice you staring at you? Wait...You wouldn't know you like me cousin."

"You think my brother is cute? Emily-"

"That's not the point. Let me finish my story."

"Alright," I say and do the zip-it-lock-it motion and then 'throw away' the key.

"Thank you," she starts again, "You brother called me back. He didn't know my name, so he just said, "Hey you!" and since there was no one else standing in the hallway I knew that he was talking to me. I was in a hospital gown, so he knew I was a patient here. He had asked me why I was snooping in your room. I did not know what to say, he sounded annoyed, and I didn't want to upset him since he looked...what's the word...I don't remember. Oh! He looked so distressed. But the thing that was odd is when he invited me into the room. I did not want to object, so I went in. I thought he had recognized me from one of the games or something, so I didn't think it was a big deal, but then I realized who else was in the room. Not you, but your mother. I was in shock, I almost fainted. I was ready to hit the floor. But she didn't even pay attention to me. It was if she was in a trance; only looking at what I thought to be her dying daughter. I don't even think she noticed I was there, so I don't count that as our first meeting. Anyways, that's when I turned to see you in the bed. All sickly looking and bruised. That's when your sister looked at me and asked what I was doing there, and Ethan explained that he let me in because she was looking in the window. Then they got into an argument about how it was not the time for Ethan to be picking up 'hospital girls' which, by the way, was very offensive. Anyways, I then explained how I had seen you the other day I had seen you, and I wanted to check how you were doing. But Maggie, you didn't look good at all, I could barely recognize you. The only reason why I knew it was really you was because I had seen your sister."
