Imagine starting the Hunter Exam and catching someone's eye.

You gaze at the huge skyscraper in awe. Never in your life have you seen such a fantastic display of architecture!

"This must be where the Hunter Exam will be taking place," Leorio states, as entranced by the building as you are.

"It's so tall," Gon adds.

Kurapika says, "Trust you to be so enamored with a simple building."

That comment was directed at Leorio, who glares at the blond in contempt.

"I've never really been away from my village before, so this is a whole new experience for me," you confess, eyes never straying from the impressive skyscraper.

You had met the trio on the ship, being the only ones to be unaffected by the storm. Ever since then, you've been sticking close to them, already attached to the oddballs.

Kurapika looks away, "Sorry."

"Here it is," the guide says, pointing at the building next to the tall one. It seems to be a restaurant of some sort.

Everyone stares at it in shock.

"That one?" Leorio squints at said structure. "It's a cafe!"

"Exactly. No one would suspect it of housing the Hunter candidates," your guide explains.

Gon nods, "I sure wouldn't."

You practically bounce into the little shop, excited to finally start the real Hunters Exam. Gon shares your excitement, smiling widely. The others are also thrilled but they hide it better.

As the guide places an order for steak done a certain way (which you know is code for the way to the Hunter Exam), you glance around idly.

Once you arrive at the small room with a table and four chairs, you bid farewell to the guide. The whole room starts to descend, presumably going into an underground bunker of some sort.

Exhilaration races through your veins. You wonder what it'll be like, who you'll meet, and what the instructors will act like.

Back home, you used to be mocked all the time for your kind and somewhat nervous behavior. Always apologizing and going out of your way to help people. You could never figure out why they disliked you.

On the ship, the passengers laughed when you said you were going to take the exam, just like the people back home.

And yet here you are, on your way to the test with three new friends and a bright smile.

The room jerks to a halt and opens up, revealing a very large underground bunker with a rounded ceiling. Awestruck, you take in all the details, glancing around with wonder in your e/c eyes.

A huge crowd of people lies ahead of you. You accept the badge as a short green person comes up to you and hands you a number.

Facing the ceiling, you walk away from your group, accidentally straying into the crowd. You often do this when faced with new surroundings, wandering aimlessly to absorb all the new information.

By the time you realize that you went off in a daze, you're surrounded by people on all sides.

Throat closing painfully, you struggle to see past the people, trying to locate your friends.

To your utter dismay, you can't seem to find them.

Don't panic, it'll be fine.

You start to walk forwards, but someone unknowingly blocks your path. Stepping backwards to avoid the person before you, you collide with someone behind you.
