Sophie studied Fitz's posture and knew he was uncomfortable. He was standing outside Biana's dorm, presumably gathering the courage to knock, while Keefe and Sophie waited for him. Her patience was slowly draining away.
She sighed. "Bro, you're going-" she was cut off by Keefe laughing.
"Bro? Bro?" He continued laughing, somewhat disturbingly.
"Yeah? Isn't that something people say?" She snapped.
"Y-yes, but it's so damn funny coming from you." He continued laughing until he was basically sobbing.
What they didn't realize is in the time Keefe was laughing, Fitz hurriedly ran inside without them.
"Uh Foster? Where's Fitziepoo?" Keefe questioned once he sobered up.
Quickly, Sophie stood straight back up. "If he's not inside he's going to get a taste of these ninja skills." She began striding purposefully towards the door.
Keefe peered over at her and smiled softly at her determination.
"Wait up Foster! The Keefe in Team Foster-Keefe isn't there yet!"
"Speed it up then broski!" She was going to keep saying that, just to make him laugh, or get irritated. She wasn't picky.
"Next thing I know you're going to be calling things sus and saying lol...I don't want that." Keefe called out, still struggling to catch up.
"Lol stop acting sus Keefe!" She yelled back, out of breath as she sprinted up the stairs.
Keefe pouted and took off after her. "What will I do with you Foster?" He muttered to himself.
By the time he reached the top, Sophie and Fitz were arguing rather loudly.
"You have too!" That was Sophie.
"No!" And there was Fitz.
"Ladies ladies, I know I'm attractive but there's no need to fight." He smirked at them.
Sophie shot an irritated glare in his direction. "This coward is being, well, a coward."
"Yeah well, it's your fault I'm even in this position." He fired back, growing more angry by the second.
"No," Sophie responded with mock sweetness. "Go in there or so help me-"
"Fitz I would hurry my Wonder Butt in there because I can almost feel the anger radiating off of her and let me tell you, it's scary." Keefe interjected before Sophie could tell Fitz exactly what she would do to him.
Fitz growled and pounded on the door before stalking into the room and slamming the door behind him. He heard lots of muffled shouting, what sounded like Biana screaming at him for how he treated Foster, and Fitz trying in vain to defend himself from her wrath.
Eventually it settled down and Keefe figured that Fitz had finally begun explaining exactly what had happened and what he had been trying to do. Fitz had been a little off, but he had had the spirit. Keefe had accurately predicted exactly what was going to happen when Fitz put his plan into motion, but Fitz ignored him and did it anyway, which led to the mess he was in right now.
Keefe glanced over at Sophie, who was seated on the ground with her head bent awkwardly between her knees. She looked sad, and tired. Keefe couldn't imagined how hard it must have been for her, to have been uprooted from her simple life and then in college of all places?
He smirked as he thought about how it almost rivaled his own disastrous life. His parents were egotistical maniacs, much liked Fitz had pretended to be, but they didn't pretend. His dad wasn't that bad, but he held high expectations and existed in a constant state of disappointment. His mom however, was horrid. She was evil and barely tried to hide it anymore. What was worse, was that Gisela tried to get Keefe to join her.
Of course, he had refused. Every. Single. Time. And it stung like a bitch each and every one of them.
"Keefe!" He was yanked back to present day at the sound of Foster shouting at him.
"They're done shouting. Do you think we should go in?"
"And disrupt the Great Vacker Sibling Reunion? No freaking way." Keefe smirked and laughed when a hint of pink flashed across Sophie's cheeks.
"You could've just said no." She said, staring at the floor.
"Nah, making Foster blush is my favorite game." This only made her blush harder, which she was sure was the intent of his words.
All of the sudden the door slammed open and Fitz stumbled out. "No liars in my house!" That was Biana. And she sounded mad.
"What?" Sophie asked. Keefe was equally mystified.
"No, what the hell?" Keefe corrected.
They heard Biana shouted from what Keefe presumed was the living room area. "He lied, and was awful to Sophie! He's going to have to actually earn forgiveness."
"She won't tell me how." Fitz pouted.
"Well yeah," Sophie responded. "If she tells you how, that removes any thought or regret on your part, which defeats the purpose of earning forgiveness."
"Foster actually learned something in her time here." Keefe laughed.
Sophie blushed. "Psychology is interesting!" She protested.
Fitz's head suddenly snapped up. "Can I take you on a real date?" He asked Sophie.
"What?" She and Keefe demanded at the same time. Sophie gave Keefe a questioning look, and he looked down at his feet, slightly embarrassed.
"A real date? One that you enjoy? And we can ge to know each other and maybe there could be more." Fitz elaborated.
"How do I know you're not putting on another act?" Sophie speculated.
"Ooh she's got you there Fitzroy." Keefe jumped in, though he quickly retreated when Sophie flared at him.
Fitz ran his hands through his hair, spiking it up and making him look like a rock star. "You don't. But know that I didn't want to hurt you on that first date, or even make it so miserable. I was acting then, but please trust that I'm not acting now."
Sophie sighed. "That's the thing, I'm not sure if I can trust you, after how you treated me, and apparently Biana too.
"Please? Just consider it?" He pleaded. His eyes seemed to convey that this was the only way Biana would forgive him. But anyone with a brain could tell that it, in fact, was not the only way.
"I-I'll think about it."
