"I can't stay. I need a break. I'll stay with Connor, Claudia and Elliot. And then I'll come back." I plead to my parents.

Now I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I ran away wallowing in self pity, felling pathetic, like I didn't deserve a mate and that I'm going to change to get him back. But you are so so wrong.

I'm leaving to live with my friends for a while. I'm going to completely change. And when I get back. Not if. When I get back. I'm going to be respected.

"Alright. But you will call at least once a week and you will come back." Dad says sternly.

"Yes I promise."

"Then you can go."

I pack my bags with most of my clothes which really isn't that much but then take everything out. If I'm going to start again then I need to start again.

I put all the clothing that was actually nice which wasn't much and my phone, charger, surface pro (computer), chargers, some books, toiletries, a photo album and a photo frame with a photo of my family in it.

When I am all packed i meet mum and dad in the car and they drive me to the airport.

When we arrive I embrace them one more time then hop on the plane waving one last goodbye.

On the way to start a new life.

I manage to fall asleep on the plane so that I won't be half asleep when we land.

When the plane arrives at the airport in Washington D.C I grab my one suitcase and walk out to where the people are waiting for the passengers.

As soon as I step away from the crowd I'm tackled to the ground.

I open my eyes to see my insane ginger haired best friend Claudia Mason.

"Hey Claud."

"Alli I missed you so much!!!" She shreiks.

"Woah Claudia don't squish her before we even get to see her." I hear a deep voice say.

"Oh sorry" she stands up and offers me a hand.

"Thanks" I give her another hug.

"Where's my hug?" I turn around to see another one of my friends. Connor Smith.

I run in to his arms.

"Con-Con."

"Slow down or you'll knock us both over. And seriously can you pick another nickname for me?" He pouts.

"Sorry i just missed you guys so much. And nope."

"What about me?" I hear another voice ask.

I turn around and launch myself in to Elliot Black's arms.

"Ellie!" I yell.

"Haha hey Alli and I'm with Connor on this. Change our nicknames."  He says against my head.

"I missed you guys so much." I say pulling back.

"We missed you to Alli." They all say in sync.

"Actually guys I'm going my Kara from now on." I tell them.

"Last time we tried to call you Kara you said, and I quote, 'it sounds nothing like me. I'm a total softy and the name Kara is too I don't know, like badass.' " Claudia says.

"Yea well I have decided I need a change." I tell them about the rejection and Elliot and Connor look about ready to punch something.

"Guys calm down. This is good for me. I needed a change and this just tells me that I really do need a change." I tell them putting a hand on Connor and Elliot's shoulders.

"Fine. We'll help you change." They all say.

"Ok, good. Now Claud can you help me with hair, make-up and clothes?" I ask her.

"Yes. I would love to!"

"Ok. And you two." I turn to Connor and Elliot. "Fitness."

"Ok. Lets get home and get you settled then I can tell that Claudia wants to take you shopping." Connor says while picking up my bag.

Elliot and Claudia each take one of my hands and together we walkout of the airport.

Elliot drives with Connor in the passenger seat. Claudia and I sit in the back and discuss my makeover.

"So I was thinking that while you are with us that you could grow your hair out so it's longer and when we go shopping we will get you a entirly new wardrobe and some stuff from the body shop aswell."

"Wow. You really have this all planned out don't you?" I ask.

"Well I have been hoping that one day you would let me give you a makeover considering the fact that last time you came to see us your hair was the same and you were wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. I am glad this time you are wearing jeans but I want to see if you have your mothers fashion sense in you."

"I don't. If I did don't you think I would dress better?"

"Maybe you do, you just don't know it yet."

"Dare to dream." I mutter.
