I was in total and complete shock. I'd just been in the room with the Social Stabber? The thought sent a chill down my spine. It wasn't like he'd tried to kill me, on the contrary he'd been flirty and interesting. But it was just something that bothered you when you realize you were in an enclosed space with a serial killer.

"Mr. Urie?" A long, lanky woman with blond hair and a stiff suit walked up to me.

"Yes?"

"I'm Jessica Hamilton, the legal representation for the police station. And I would like to apologize on behalf of their negligence." She took the seat next to me.

"Okay?"

"I do believe it is in your best interest not to sue-"

"Sue?"

"Yes sir. Of course the county will  endorse you for the danger they put you in and any emotional distress you may have felt."

"Endorse me?"

"Yes." She dug in her briefcase and took out a thin, small piece of paper. She sat it on my lap.

It was a check! Holy fuck it was a check! A big check. I stood there wide eyed, mentally counting the zeros. One. Two. Three. Four. A check for 50,000 dollars? Just for accidentally placing me in the wrong room? I was about to tell the woman that this looked like more than I ever made at work, when there was a commotion.

I looked up and saw three policemen escorting none other than the social stabber himself. His handcuffs were behind his back and they were holding him by the shoulders and one was behind him. He didn't look happy.

"You have no evidence! No confession!" He yelled.

"We don't need a confession. Once we tell the story of the murders and put you in front of that jury, you're good as gone!" A cop laughed.

"Get off of me!" He screamed and tried to pull away.

I watched the scene in horror. Again, I was less than twenty feet from a murderer. But this time he was violently angry. Thrashing around and yelling promises of what he'd due when he escaped the cuffs. His eyes finally landed on me and he stopped thrashing. Stopped yelling.

"Brendon!" He said as if we were old friends. "Hey Brendon! I missed you!" His laugh was dry and humourless. "Promise me you'll come visit me! I'd love to see you again."

My heart was racing like a horse on a track. As they walked past and he got closer, I stopped breathing. The hall wasn't wide enough for me to not be within two feet of him. As he was passing by, he sntached away from the guards. The fat one behind him, stumbled from the slight push and he fell. Ryan head butted the other one and kicked the third in the knee. I stood watching in disbelief. Then his tall figure was in front of me. Leaning down to my height, he kissed me. Slow and hard.

A slightly embarrassing squeaky sound came from the back of my throat. I didn't try to fight him off though. I don't know why. I just didn't. And then he was being yanked away from me. I watched his skinny frame be slammed against the floor. The fat cop had his knees in his back. The one he'd headbutted, kicked him in the head. I could have cried. He was picked up off the floor and dragged the rest of the way down the hall.

"Are you okay?" The lawyer asked me with wide eyes."

"I-I don't know." I could feel my lip quivering.

"How did that happen?!" She yelled at the remaining cop

"I don't know!"

"You were baiting him. We'd be lucky if he even gets charge with assaulting a police officer! We have no proof of anything! Not even a slight confession.

"He told me he killed." I whispered but they heard. I don't know why I said it. It just slipped my brain wasn't functioning properly since the kiss. God the kiss. I felt so violated.

"He what?" The woman turned her rage on me.

"I-I told him anyone could do what he does. I meant being a cop. Not killing and h-he said you think anyone could kill. I-I didn't know!" I was on the brink of sobbing.

"He said that to you?" I nodded. "And you'd be willing to testify in court?"

Would I? I thought about not doing it. But then he'd get out of jail and have the chance to stab me. Or even kiss me. What if he raped me?

"Yes. I'd testify in court."

"Its not great, but its something!" The lawyer took out he phone and dialed a number. "Hello sir? Yes this is Ms. Hamilton. We need a much bigger check!"
