Ten

Once I closed the door on my unit, I slid down the wall clutching my chest. My heart is beating so fast. Nakakahiya talaga na nakatulog ako sa sa kama niya. And nakita ko siya na naka bathrobe lang. So awkward!

When I calmed down, I went to my bathroom to take a bath. I took quite a while bathing to calm my nerves. I just wore jeans and a pink oversized button down. I made my face presentable by putting on tinted sunscreen and pink lipstick to have some color in my face. I just let my hair down and put on a headband.

I took my camera out as well. I was planning to take him to Intramuros as I wanna take photos of old Manila. I've actually never been there so here's my chance.

I looked at the time and saw that it's almost 2 pm. I only got my small cardholder wallet and a handkerchief before getting my keys and going out of my unit. I headed straight to the elevators after locking my unit.

The elevator I was riding in stopped at the floor below mine. I saw Denzel, I remember his name now, when the elevator doors opened. We stared at each other for a brief moment before he stepped in the lift.

"Hi." Sa tabi ko siya tumayo and we were both facing the elevator doors.

"Uhmm, hi." I glanced at him a bit and turned my stare back in front of me.

"So you live in a higher floor than me?"

"It seems so. Uhhh, I hope you don't mind me bringing my camera?"

"No, not at all. So where will you take me on a tour?"

"Intramuros. I've actually never been there so we will be touring it together." I looked up at him and gave him a small smile when I saw that he was looking at me.

"National museum is there right? Can we go there first? I wanted to see the Spolarium."

"Sure! I was planning to go there as well. Mainit pa naman mamasyal right now sa Intramuros."

When the elevator stopped in the basement car park, we headed to his car.

I can't believe I'm already comfortable sitting inside his car. This feels weird but nice at the same time. It also has a comforting smell for me. Like hope and nostalgia.

He followed the GPS going to National Museum. We were quiet on the way there, only the music playing from the radio can be heard... the manila traffic outside as well pala can be heard.

He got us tickets to the museum and he insisted on paying since I'll be the tour guide naman daw. That's fine for me.

I'm in awe of the museum. I've never been here before. I can't believe na ngayon lang ako nagpunta dito! Sobrang feel ko ang art and history dito. Museums have a way of playing with your emotions and right now I feel elated seeing all these artworks up close.
