Feelings at the Record Store

I been treating my feelings

Like they're records at the store

If it were 1995, I'd walk around

Pick some up, stare at pictures,

read some words, test the sound

Kill some time, put them down

And the clocks been ticking

like it knows I've been missing,

hiding away, in here for hours

And the managers smiling

Cus he knows I've been thinking

of the characters written about

in the sad song aisle.

So I spend a little time

with one song or another

A memory comes along

Or a feeling to rediscover

And it may be sad

or perhaps I'll smile

Then I'll stop the track

Put the record back

And walk around for a while
