Adam's POV
I finished crying and I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in," I said as I sat up.
The door opened and I saw my older sister Brielle come in. She wore white shorts, a red tank top and flip-flops. Her brown hair was in a side braid and her brown eyes sparkled. She smiled at me.
"Hey bro," Brielle said.
I smiled, jumped up from my bed and I threw my arms around her. She hugged me back and I told her everything that happened all at once. When I finished telling her, she stared at me with her eyes wide in shock.
"I'm sorry Adam," she told me.
"It's fine I guess. I just hate Austin right now," I said softly.
"Why?" She asked as we sat down on my bed.
My face grew hot.
"Remember when Austin and I used to be..." I paused, looked at the ground and said, "together? Like four years ago?"
"You mean five years ago?" She asked
I stared at her blankly and she explained to me that I was unconscious for two weeks and I turned eighteen.
"Oh. Well then yeah five years ago," I said, "anyways. I think you left before Austin and I...became an item but I was gay until I met Breanne. But now she thinks I'm that and she told me she loved me and she got kidnapped a few hours ago. So what do I do?
Brielle cupped my face in her hands.
"Firstly, I had no idea you were gay and secondly, did Bre see you..." She stopped and her face turned crimson.
"No. But Austin almost told her we did," I said, "and, cousin Matthew kissed me but it was like a family one if you know what I mean. But no. To be honest, I regret ever liking Austin more than a friend."
Brielle chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"Oh you were going through a weird phase in your life, Adam." She said, "and what you should do about Breanne is look for clues. I mean if you know who kidnaped her and he knows you maybe he texted you. Or something."
I stared at her as I took in what she said. That would actually work! A smile spread across my face and I thanked her. Then I grabbed her hand and we went downstairs.
"Mom! I know where..." My voice trailed off when I saw Austin talking to my parents. "You know you're the last person I want to see today right?"
Austin and I made eye contact. He had an apologetic look on his face.
"Adam I'm so so so sorry for what I did. I...I wasn't thinking about what I was saying," he said, "can we be friends again?"
I gazed at him and I saw how sorry he was.
"Yeah. We can be friends," I told him as we shook hands, "but only friends. No doing the things we used to do. Agreed?"
Austin smiled.
"Agreed. Besides, you have a girl to rescue from the clutches of the devilishly handsome Rowan Brown."
I cringed.
"That's it! When I'm done rescuing Breanne I'm finding you a girlfriend" I said, putting an emphasis on girlfriend.
Austin's smile turned into a playful frown.
"But what if I don't want a girlfriend," he said while laughing slightly and coming closer to me.
I knew what he was about to do and I sidestepped him and he looked at me.
"Then that's your own problem. I'm straight now and I'm staying that way for Breanne," I said with my heart pounding in my chest, then I changed subject and I said, "so why are you here?"
Austin frowned for real and he handed me Breanne's phone. I took it and I saw that Rowan had sent a text. It was for me and it said,
Adam, you have three days to find your one true love. If you don't find her before three days, she'll get the same treatment you did. And I told her about you and Austin. She doesn't love you anymore.
~Rowan.I grew angry.
"Crap!" I said.
Then I looked at everyone and I told them what Rowan said and I also told them what we're going to do. They agreed and without a word, the five of us went out looking for Breanne. While we were looking I thought,
You're the sky that I fell through
And I remember the view whenever I'm holding you
The sun hung from a string
Looking down on the world as it warmed over everything
Chills run down my spine as our fingers intwine
And your sighs harmonize with mine
Unmistakably I can still feel your heart
Beat fast when you dance with meWe got older and I should have known
(Do you feel alive?)
That I'd feel colder when I walk alone
(Oh, but you'll survive)
So I may as well ditch my dismay
(Bombs away... Bombs away...)-------
A/N: I will have both Breanne's and Adam's POV in the next chapter! Anyways. If you liked this please consider giving it a vote and comment.
