Adam's POV

I sighed heavily and I got off of my sister. She stopped singing and she looked at me.

"You alright?" Brielle asked

"No," I said softly, "Breanne shouldn't have been drugged. It should've been me."

Brielle wiped away my tears and she hugged me.

"Hey. I can take you to the hospital if you want," she said.

I looked at her and I smiled as I nodded my head. Brielle then kissed my forehead and we got up and walked out of her room. I put my hands in my pockets and we went downstairs. Brielle told mom and dad that we're going to the hospital to visit Breanne.

"Okay, don't be out too long," dad said.

"We won't be out that long!" Brielle and I said in unison as we walked out.

Brielle and I decided to walk to the hospital instead of drive. While we walked, Brielle was telling me stories about her job as an actress on Broadway. I half listened but I was more concerned about Breanne. A few minuets later, we reached the hospital and a nurse led us to Breanne's room. I went in and I immediately burst into tears. I hugged my sister and I heard the nurse walk out.

"Shh. Adam it's okay. It's okay," she said as she rubbed my back.

My sobs died down and I slowly went over to Breanne who had an oxygen mask on her face and an IV in her arm. I reached out and I gently held her hand. Then a wave of guilt and depression washed over me and I quickly let go of her hand.

"I wanna go home," I said.

"But we just got here," my sister pointed out.

I turned around and I glared at her.

"I said I want to go home. Okay? I don't care if we just got here," I said angrily.

"Alright," Brielle replied softly.

I then lightly kissed Breanne's forehead then I followed my sister out of the room. Once again, I was out of it since the next thing I knew I was sitting on my bed in my room staring at a picture of Breanne and I at a dance two years ago. That was the first time I've danced with her. Now I'm waiting for her to wake up. I sighed heavily as I brought out a notebook and I started writing down song lyrics to bring my mind off of Breanne.

The next eight months flew by and I sat in the waiting room of the hospital with my parents and Breanne's parents waiting for Breanne to wake up. We were also wondering if the baby was okay. After waiting for two hours, a doctor came in and he told us that Breanne had a baby girl and that she should wake up soon. I looked at everyone and I smiled. We all got up and we followed the doctor to Breanne's room. We all stood outside the room and we were deciding on who should go in the room first since only one person is allowed at a time so we don't overwhelm Breanne when she wakes up. Everyone looked at me.

"You should go Adam," her dad said.

I was shocked.

"Are you sure? I mean you're her parents and-"

Her dad placed his hands on my shoulders and he looked me in the eye.

"Adam you're her boyfriend. You deserve to be there when she wakes up," John said, "After all, she was by your side when you woke up."

I smiled then I went in the room. My feet led me towards her bedside and she looked peaceful.

"Here," a nurse said as she handed me a baby.

"Uh," I said as she shoved the child in my arms.

The child was wrapped in a pink blanket with a cute little cap on her head. I noticed that the baby had sea-blue eyes and a small tuff of blonde hair.

"So what are you gonna name Breanne's kid?" The nurse asked rather rudely

I glared at her then I looked back at the child.

"Her name is Jade," I said.

The baby smiled and reached her little arms up at me. A smile spread across my face as I felt a warm fuzzy feeling inside of me. Then I looked up when I heard Breanne moan softly. My heart pounded in my chest as I stared at her. A few seconds later Breanne opened her eyes and we made eye contact. She smiled and I said jokingly,

"Hey sleepyhead."
