Chapter 18

Adam's POV

I woke up and I heard music being played. It was my music! The song I wrote for Breanne!

"Hey! Turn it off!" I shouted at Rowan.

He listened.

"Ah I'm glad you're awake, Adam," he said as he came close to me, "tell me. It said you wrote this song for Breanne. But you wrote it for Austin."

I glared at him.

"I wrote it for Breanne!" I shouted angrily.

Rowan pretended to offended.

"Sure you did. So who did you like before high school?" He asked

I kept quiet as he kept asking me questions that all of the answers were Austin. He stopped talking and he looked me in the eye. I smiled.

"I'm not gay, Rowan," I said simply as I stood up and got the CD from him, "I love Breanne Düren and nothing can change that."

Rowan was speechless. I laughed then stopped when I saw Austin walk in holding a small box.

"Austin what's that?" I asked

He looked at me with sadness in his eyes.

"It's a bomb, Adam," he said, "I realized that I'm the one causing problems for your life and I'll be gone. So will Rowan."

My eyes grew wide as I watched as he activated the bomb and he held Rowan in a headlock.

"You better run, Adam. You got three minuets," Austin said, "go on and live your life happily with Bre."

"Austin there's gotta be-"

He cut me off when he yelled at me to leave. Tears formed in my eyes as I reluctantly walked out of the building which turned into running. I ran through the woods and I stopped when I heard the bomb go off. A wave of sadness washed over me as I stared at the fire of where the building was. My best friend is gone forever, I thought as I forced myself to keep walking.

My feet led me back to Matthew's place and I decided is stay there for a few weeks. I went in and I told him what happened. When I finished, I went into a spare room and I cried my eyes out wishing it was me that died instead of Austin.
