Is He Serious?

Jasmine's Pov:

Me: "That's...that's not Nathaniel."

Jensen looked at me in curiosity and fear.

Jensen: "What do you mean?"

Me: "That's not his real name."

Jensen: "Who is he then?"

Me: "That's my ex,.........Terrance."

I looked up at Jensen and I could see his disappointment. He walked to the couch slowly and sat down and looked at the floor.

Jensen: "You looked scared. Why?"

I walked over and sat next to him.

Me: "In my freshman year of college, I was in the library studying and then Terrance came up behind me. He said I was beautiful and asked for my name. Ever since then, we would hang out and get along with each other. The next year, we became friends with benefits. I wanted to focus on my work so that's why I had it set that way. Then senior year came and we became a couple. We dated for one year and at first, it was nice. Then he started drinking and saying bad things about me. Saying that I was worthless and not important. He would make me do things and then make me feel bad when I did it wrong. And when I did things wrong, he would...umm...he would start hitting me. Hard. He said if I told anyone or tried to leave, he would find me and make me regret that I did anything wrong in the first place. During my time with him, I was able to save up enough money from my job and I moved to Texas. I knew he wouldn't be able to find me here because it was one of the places I never mentioned to him. I then got into college here to finish my education. I got a job, got paid well, and was able to get that house. I've been living here for 3 years and I was convinced I lost him. But now I see he's here, with Danneel, making dinner, possibly poisoning us-we can't stay!"

Just then Nathaniel(Terrance) came around the corner.

Nathaniel(Terrance): "Dinner is ready!"

We both smiled, slowly got up, and walked towards the dining room.

Jensen: "Don't worry, I'm here. Just try not to eat much. Just to be safe."

Me: "Okay."

We sit on one side of the dinner table while Danneel and Nathaniel(Terrance) sat on the other. We all bowed our heads, Danneel said grace and we all started to get our food. When everyone got their food, Danneel stopped us.

Danneel: "Okay, before we actually start eating, I want to say something. Jasmine..."

She calls for me and I look up from my plate, staring into her eyes, waiting for what's next.

Danneel: "Jasmine, I'm sincerely sorry. I was just extremely jealous of your happy relationship with Jensen, which is something that I dearly missed. I see that you guys are happy with each other and I have come to respect that. I just hope that you accept my apology and we can start off new."

Me: "I accept your apology. Thank you for giving me a chance. I look forward to our possible new friendship."

We both smiled at each other and then Nathaniel(Terrance) spoke up.

Nathaniel(Terrance): "I would also like to say something."

My heart skipped a beat and I froze as I looked at him. He looked at me and then looked towards Danneel.

Nathaniel (Terrance): "I have done some things in my past that I regret. One of them...was lying about my name. I'm actually not Nathaniel. My real name is Terrance.....Another one that I dearly regret, was hurting Jasmine."
