Love Is Difficult

Jensen's Pov:

I got into my car and just started to think. My heart was broken, I was conflicted on what to do next, and I have to protect someone I really like. I turned on my car and then one of Jasmine and I's favorite song came on. Just the thought of her made me sad. I can't see her until I get this whole situation under control. I start up my car and go straight home.

I open the door to my house and I see my babysitter on the couch watching TV. She turned around when she heard the door close.

Gabrielle: "Hey Jensen. All of the kids are asleep."

Me: "Thank you."

Gabrielle: "How was your night?"

I walked over to the couch and sat next to her.

Me: "It was amazing. A night to remember. Then, it all went bad at once."

Gabrielle: "What happened?"

I faced her and started to explain everything. From the divorce to meeting Jasmine to Danneel causing so much tension within my personal dating life. Gabrielle had a shocked emotion on her face. Just talking about it made me distraught again. I felt a tear roll down my cheek, but I wiped it away. Gabrielle moved her hand and put it on my shoulder.

Gabrielle: "I'm so sorry. You don't deserve this and she doesn't deserve this either."

Me: "Yeah. It's just I can't see her anymore. which is making everything so much worse."

Gabrielle: "But don't you like her?"

Me: "I really do."

Gabrielle: "Then fight for her and with her."

Me: "I am. That's why I'm staying away. I need her to be safe."

Gabrielle: "But imagine how she feels? She just got threatened, house got attacked, and lost someone she really cared about."

I looked down at the ground thinking over what Gabrielle said. "Am I doing the right thing?"

Me: "I get that,...but I don't want her hurt."

Gabrielle: "Jensen, listen. If you are with her, as in together, you are fighting for her. Jensen, you really like this girl. Don't let Danneel come in and ruin your new future."

Me: "Thank you."

Gabrielle: "You're welcome. Now, I'm gonna go head home cuz I'm tired."

I let out a chuckle as we both got up from the couch and headed towards the door. I was able to hand her the money for babysitting, opened the door for her and she walked out. She turned around and looked at me.

Gabrielle: "Fight for the girl you love."

She then turned away and walked to her car. She got in and drove away. I closed the door and just stood still. Her words were just going around in my head. The stuff Danneel does makes me really worried for Jasmine. I want to fight for her. I want to be with her. But will I put her in jeopardy?

I walked upstairs and went to all of my kids' room and then stopped at JJ's. I slowly opened her door and looked at her sound asleep. I smiled knowing that she was okay and closed her door. I entered my room and just sat on my bed. I was thinking about texting how I feel to Jasmine, but I didn't want to upset her anymore. I just want to hold her in my arms and tell her everything is gonna be okay. I got up from the bed, changed into my pajamas, and went back to my bed. I was falling asleep with the thought of the kids and Jasmine on my mind.
