hanahaki disease is a fictional disease where the victim of unrequited or one-sided love begins to vomit or cough up the petals and flowers of a flowering plant growing in their lungs. the only way it can be cursed is if the person who they have a crush on loves them back, or they get it surgically removed. however, if they get it removed via surgery, it removes the patient's capacity for romantic love. it may also erase the patient’s feelings for and memories of the one they were in love with.

(oc) and (crush) had been best friends for the longest time... to the point where (oc) eventually started to get feelings for crush. apon believing that their love was one-sided, (oc) started to get the hanahaki diease.

afraid of having anyone finding out, (oc) started to hide away in their house in a attempt to keep it hidden. (crush), eventually gets worried, and goes down to (oc)'s place to check in on them. after getting no response, they put it in their own hands to find a way in and see what's going on.
