Chapter four is ready !

- - - -

I pull the hood of my pullover over my blonde hair, that I tied into a messy ponytail to hide it and carefully limp out of the plane. It wasn't easy to walk with my crutches, that I still needed. I was able to put weight on my left leg, but I still needed to get used to moving it after such a long time. I considered calling Yuuri to give me a ride. But he would probably come along with Victor and then my plan of been unnoticed would be totally crashed.

So I get a cart and then my suitcase. Slowly and carefully I make my way to the cabs. Waiting a few minutes I get a free one and the driver gets my things and I take the seat on the passenger side. I tell him to get me to the ice castle in Hasetsu. Before anything else I wanted to see the ice. The doc told me to wait with actual skating and wrote me a training menu to do for the next four weeks, before I was allowed to set a foot on the ice. But I just needed to see it and feel it.

I lean my head against the window and watch the landscapes pass by. After a while my eyes fall shut and I dose of.

After some time I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look up and see the driver smiling at me. He points a finger into the direction of the ice castle and says something in japanese I didn't understand. I nod and get out some money. We get out of the car and he gives me my suitcase and bag pack. I get my crutches out of the backseats and thank him.

He drives away and I look at the ice rink. Slowly I make my way up the stairs. I push the glass door open and think back to the time, when I kicked it in to punch Yuuri, because he stole Victor form me. I chuckle quietly at the memory and walk into the entrance area. The door closes with a thud and the sound of my crutches on the gummi is kinda loud.

"Excuse me, but we're closed right now!", the voice of a girl calls from behind the counter, hearing me enter while she puts skates back into the shelf.

"I don't want to skate. I just wanted to take a look at the ice.", I explain quietly not prepared for her reaction.

She immediately turns around when she hears my voice and stares at me for a moment probably not believing her eyes.

"YURI!", she exclaims and comes around the counter and towards me. "I can't believe it. Yuuri told me he talked to you and that you wanted to come back. Welcome back!"

"Yeah. Thanks.", I say, not knowing what to reply to her. She has always been so kind and nice to me. I have never known how to act around so happy people.

"Ah.. sure. The rink is open for you every time!", she answers my question from before.

I smile shyly at her, leave my suitcase where it is and walk the usual way to the rink. The moment I open the door I'm enveloped in cold air. I take a deep breath and just then realize how much I missed this. The tingling in my fingers and the cold shiver running down my back. I go closer to the ice put the crutches away and lean against the rink wall, looking down onto the frozen water. My slightly blurred reflection looking back at me.

"Don't you want to go out?", Yuuko suddenly asks and steps next to me.

"I really want to but my doc hasn't given me his ok yet."

"For skating. But you could just step out in your shoes.", she suggests.

"Well..", I think about this option for a moment. I could be back on the ice. Just for a moment. "Since that day I haven't been on the ice again.", I whisper.

"Are you scared?", she asks directly. I look up and feel my cheeks grow hot. Am I scared? Of ice skating? No. Of hurting? Yes. Of failing again? Definitely!

"It's stupid, I n-"

"No it's not. It's okay to be afraid.", she says seriously and after a short moment of silence, her cheeks blush as well. "Do you want me to hold your hands?"

"Wha-?!", I look at her surprised. It's not that I was afraid of standing on the ice, but the thought of everything that came with the first step. I press my face into my hands and sigh loudly. "Whatever."

"Huh?"

"I want to be out there. I need to make the first step!"

I slowly walk to the rink door and open it. Leaving my crutches against the wall and look at her expectant holding out my hand. "If you tell one single soul, I will kill you!"

She comes closer. "I won't tell anyone. I promise."

She takes my hand and steps out onto the ice. I follow her and slowly let my right feet touch the ice first. I pull my left leg after and we walk a small circle across the ice. She never let go of my hand once and I was so fucking grateful for the reassurance her warm hand gave me. I would never tell her, but without her I probably wouldn't have stepped out onto the ice.

"How is it?", she asks after some moments of quietly sliding over the ice.

"Just as wonderful, as it was before.."

"You can come as often as you like.", she smiles and we get of the ice again.

I smile back at her. "Thanks."
