When Yuuri stopped the car I slowly open my eyes and look outside. My headache was thankfully slowly fading away.
"Come. We need to walk a bit.", he says and smiles at me. We get out ofthe car and blindly not caring where we're going I follow Yuuri. After a few moments I realize he took me to the ocean. I stop for a moment and watch the dark waves of the ocean crash against the beach. Yuuri sat down on the sand and was looking at me. He patted the sand next to him and I sigh and let myself fall down beside him.
"I thought here would be a good place to speak.", he says and looks out into the ocean. "When I wasn't sure about myself and what I should do, Victor took me here. It really helped."
"Whatever. It's not like I really want to talk about anything..", I mumble.
"Well.. you don't have to if you don't want to. I just thought it might help you open up."
I just hummed in response and pulled my hood tighter around my head when a little breeze brushed through my hair.
"When I was seven I was in a car accident with my parents.", I quietly say after a while. "I don't remember much." I squeeze my eyes shut when pictures flash through my mind and my head starts hurting again, pulsing in tact with my heartbeat. Red lights. Squeaking of breaks. Metal crashing against metal. Screams. And then suddenly nothing at all.
A hand on my shoulder pulls me out of my memory. "Yu-"
"My parents died that day and I.. well I lost my left leg from below my knee.", I interrupt him and take a deep breath. "When I was released from the hospital I started to live with my grandpa."
"How did you get into ice skating after that?", Yuuri asks carefully.
"Well.. that's thanks to my grandpa.", I smile when I remember the first time my grandpa took me onto the ice. I smile and look into the sky before I start to tell Yuuri the story.
*Flashback*
I was laying on my bed in my grandpas house. It was 3 month ago that my parents died and I lost my leg. Since then I have been laying around and feeling useless.
"Yuratchka." My grandpa steps into my room. "Come on. You can't sit all day in your room. Let's go grocery shopping."
"I don't want to."
"Yura! I don't want to say it again!", he says determined. "I'll wait for you."
He leaves my room and I sigh. But I grab my crutches and heave myself up. Slowly I make my way to the door. My grandpa smiles a little.
"Come Yura."
We walk the short distance to his car and he takes my crutches to put them on the backseats.
We drive a while until we get to the small grocery store.
There were people. Since my accident I hate people – not that I really liked them before. They look at me with pity, sadness and disgust. I couldn't stand their eyes looking at me like I'm something paranormal.
"Yura!", my grandpa calls me holding my crutches. I take them and follow him slowly.
I'm glad my crutches were made for icy ground, cause if not I would have fallen way to many times.
Inside the store I limp through the aisles. Following my grandpa. I feel the eyes of all the people.
"Grandpa! I wanna go home!", I whine and stop beside him. When he talks to the cashier and pays.
