Chapter 9

Marinette

"So what happened after I ran out of there like my hair was on fire?" I asked as Damian held me close, while walking down the street.
"Well, Damian and I started to chase you, but someone fell on me. So it ended up being just Damian. But then I remembered about tracking your phone, and I pulled up the app and saw you at Wayne Manor again. I think you were running on rooftops and got up there on accident." Chloé said with a shrug. "But, the security cameras caught your kiss. I saved it as your screensaver." She wiggles her eyebrows up and down, suggestively.
I groaned before burring my face in Damians arm. "Kill me now, please." I whispered.
"No, your not allowed to die. My beautiful, girlfriend has to live." Damian whispered back, kissing the top of my head.
"Is it just me, or is this weird?" Tim whispered to Jon.
I giggled. "I think it's just you Tim." I couldn't help but answer. He groaned and leaned against Chloé. I tugged at Alix and pointed. She smirked before nodding. Guess I have two pairs I have to get together. Make that three, I said as I glanced at Kim and Jon.

"Where the hell have you been?" Was our greeting into the gardens. "We've been waiting for an hour." Alya yelled as she stormed over, dragging Adrien with her. I felt Damians grip tighten around my waist, as he slowly pushed me so he was standing in front of me.
"I was out." I said with a shrug. Trying to get past this interaction and enjoy this tour.
"Well, you should have been with Adrien. He's been trying to talk to you for three days now." She said and pushed Adrien in front of her. She smirked at me before walking off. "You kids have fun."
I placed myself fully behind Damian. He can't get in my head if I don't see him.
"Come on out, Princess. We have talking to do." Adrien called
"Like hell Im going with a rapping soniva-bitch like you." I said from behind Damian. I didn't realize I was gripping his shirt, till he moved a step forward.
"Go away, Agreste. Or I'm calling the police." Damian threatened. His voice was dark and icy. There was no trace warmth or concern, that I had heard just a few moments ago. He was pushing his Robin persona into his voice.
"Not happening. I need to talk to Marinette. We have unfinished business." He growled lowly. The shudder and fear started to cloud my head. And I started to shake violently.
"Go away Adrien." I whispered.
But he wasn't taking no. He was going to keep coming back. He wasn't going to give up. And then, I pulled the ring I snuck past security in both airports. And as I moved around Damian, and aimed the gun at Adrien, a deathly calm came over me. "Go away or I will shoot you." I said as I cocked the gun and waited.
Adrien smirked, and stepped closer. "You won't shoot me, Princess. Your too good." He stayed smugly.
I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I glared at one of the people that caused me so much pain. "I'm not the sweet, naïve, innocent, girl you attacked. So if you take one more step I'm going to shoot you. I don't know where yet, but I promise its going to hurt like hell. You might survive, but right now, your life is on my terms."
I didn't hear the wind rustling as it blew my hair in my face. All I could hear was Adrien laughing at me as I cried. Naked underneath him. All I could see was his smug, satisfied smile, as he pulled away. And the flashbacks raced threw my head and then, he lunged.
I pulled the trigger.
It hit him in the shoulder, and I fired a second shot, and aimed at his legs. Immobile. But Adrien didn't cry out like people normally do. He laughed. He laughed and laughed and laughed. As I watched tears leak from his eyes and run down his face.
"Like I said before, I'm not the same girl you attacked. I may seem weak and scared, trust me I am, but I have been preparing for this since I bought the dam thing." I said as I picked my purse up from the ground and placed my gun back inside.

When the officers arrived, they almost arrested me. (Thanks to Lila.) but my friends and boyfriend had my back. And a woman with red hair in a wheal chair rolled over to us.
"Are you guys alright?"
"Were fine, Barabara." Tim said. When an officer came up to me, they asked for a statement. So I gave them one.
"Miss, why did you shoot Adrien Agreste?" She asked
"I have a restraining order against him, and have been filing assault charges against him for the past month. They get swept to the side because of who he is. After I was assaulted I bought a gun, and I promised myself, I wouldn't get hurt again by him. Me and my friends told him to leave and when he didn't, and kept persisting that I talk to him, I pulled out my gun and told him to leave me alone. When he didn't and lunged at me, I shot him in the shoulder and in the leg." I said with as much confidence as possible. It wasn't a lot.
"Do you have a conceal carry permit, and a copy of the restraining order?"
I nodded and gave her both. After a few minutes, the officer gave them back with a sad smile. "Thank you, Miss. I'm sorry for what happened to you. We'll be taking him to the hospital, but after that he's going to jail." She assured me.
"Thank you." I said with a smile.
And when the officer left. The mask fell and I cried. Relief flooding my veins like a drug. A huge weight was lifted from my shoulders, and I could help but be happy. Arms encircled me, and I leaned into the chest of my boyfriend. He kissed my head and nuzzled my neck. I felt my phone buzz, so I pulled back and smiled at Jagged's icon.
"Hey, Uncle J." I said with a smile on my face. My eyes were red and puffy, but I was happy.
"Hey Mari, I was wondering if you could make it to dinner?"
"Yeah. I got news though so here it goes. Adrien got arrested today. He's going to jail." I said a bit breathlessly.
"Marinette that's amazing news. What happened?"
"I shot him with the gun I bought." I said sheepishly. "Be wouldn't stop asking to talk to me. I gave him a chance to leave but he lunged and now he's going away." I said with a sad smile.
"That's amazing. I'll tell Penny for you."
"Thanks Jagged. I gotta go. We-We're at the gardens and I'm gonna try and not cry from relief the whole time." I said with a chuckle.
"You do that Mari. I'll see you tonight. By."
And the line went dead and I collapsed against Damian.
"I need a nap." I stayed and laughed.
"Yay!!! You can finally get some sleep!!!" Chloé and Alix cheered.
"Hey, I got a lot done when I didn't sleep." I said with a small pout. Damian promptly kissed my pouted lips and smiled.
"Yes, but sleep keeps your brain functioning properly." He stated.
I groaned before standing up and smirking. "Last one time the center of the garden looses!" I called before taking off.
