Chapter 6

Marinette

I didn't get any sleep last night. Then again, I don't really sleep anymore. Chloé had to drag me downstairs, where we met up with Kim, Alix, Kagami, and Luka.
"What happened?" Alix asked as I leaned on her.
"I didn't sleep last night. And Damian asked me out." I whispered as I closed my eyes.
And as I was falling asleep, my phone went off. I groaned and picked it up.
"Jagged?"
"Marinette, I need your help."
I shook my head and sighed. "What happened?"
I heard him chuckle then sigh. "Penny is in labor."
"WHAT?! I'm on my way. I'm being everyone!" I said before hanging up. I'm wide awake now. I turned to everyone and smiled. "Penny's in labor."
And just like that, we loaded into a cab and rushed to the hospital. Ignoring Miss. Bustier and the class.

When we got there, we rushed inside and found Penny's room. Jagged looked like he was freaking out, and Penny looked really calm about everything. All things considering.
"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Kim asked as I crossed the room to sit next to Penny.
"Well, I'm kinda nervous." Jagged said as he continued to pace.
"Jagged, sit!" I said and pointed to the seat next to Penny. "Everything is going to be fine. Penny gets the cheap seat. You have to hold her hand and wipe the sweat away." I stated simply.
"You were watching Gilmore Girls again weren't you?" Penny asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's one of the few things that bring me joy." I said with a sad smile. Then the doctor came in.
"Hello, Mrs. Stone. I see you have guests." She said with a nod towards us.
"This is my Honorary Niece and her friends." Penny said pointing at me. I smiled and nodded.
"Alright, I need everyone on this side of the examination, while I check her dilation." The Dr. said.
I corralled my friends to stand next to Penny's head and we talked about baby names. Penny is pretty sentimental about names so she came up with the name Tamber. It means Music Tone. She wanted to have Jagged's love for music involved. Best part is, he doesn't know what it means yet. When the doctor finished his examination he smiled and said she was dilating at a faster rate then normal and was already at 8 centimeters.
"I'm going to get a few nurses so we can prep the room." She said before leaving.
I smiled at Penny before I felt my phone buzz.

Unknown: Hey Marinette it's Damian. I was wondering where you and rest of your friends are. Your supposed to be at the Gardens and your not. I'm not trying to be rude just wondering where you are?
I blushed and handed the phone to Chloé. She cackled and handed the phone to Alix, who passed it to Kim, then Kagami, then Luka.
Marinette: I'm at the hospital with my Uncle and Aunt. They're about to become parents. I got the phone call as we were loading the bus, but we decided this was the best way to go.😉

Damian: Ok. Do you mind if I join you? I know we have a date tonight, but I would like to talk to you.

Marinette: sure, were at Gotham General in the maternity ward.

Damian: ok, see you soon.

"He's coming to the hospital." Was all I said before dramatically leaning against Chloé. My friends laughed before making kissy faces. "Did I also forget to mention we have a date tonight." I mumbled. Penny sat up before she winced and gripped the sheets. Her breathing coming out in pants.
"Those damn doctors are so slow." She groaned as another contraction hit.
Then the doctors burst through the doorway, they looked so bad ass. When the doctors had everything set up, they told me and my friends to wait in the lobby. Nodding my head, we walked away. But before I left I looked at Jagged and smirked.
"Don't pass out, Uncle J."

"inette. Marinette. Marinette, wake up."
Slowly, so slowly, I opened my eyes to see Damians shaking me lightly.
"W-what..?"
"It's ok. Penny delivered the baby. The others went to see her."
"How long was I-"
"Three hours." Damian cut me off with a sly grin. "You were asleep before I got here. Do I bore you that much?"
I blushed and sat up at mock speed. "Of course not. I just didn't get much sleep last night is all."
I watched his moves carefully. He didn't seem surprised by the fact I didn't sleep last night. But what shocked me the most is that, instead of asking why, he held his hand out.
"Lets go meet your cousin."
Smiling, I took his hand and we walked to Penny's room.

"Tamber Janelle Stone you are the luckiest girl in the world." I cooed at the baby. "You have the best rock n roll model of a father. And when he goes to crazy, you'll have your level head mother to point you in the right direction. And when she goes crazy, you'll have me and a whole line of people ready to help you and give advice." I said as I Tamber gripped my finger. "Your gonna be a fighter. And it's going to be very interesting to watch you put a hole in the wall."
I giggled as Penny gasped in horror, and Jagged chuckled and shook his head.
"Mari, don't give her any ideas." Penny scolded halfheartedly.
"Me....? Never." I replied dramatically. I smiled at the tiny bundle in my arms. "Besides, she won't need help. She'll just know how to."
After handing Tramber back to her parents, I said my farewells and headed back to my hotel.

Damian: I'm in the lobby.

Marinette: ok. Be down in just a minute.

I was freaking out!!
