"That nigga is obviously lying." Amani says pouring a drink for me. She slides it over to me.

"Obviously. But I don't wanna confront him about it and turn it into a big deal." I say taking a sip from my third glass today. When I got to my apartment and showered as Amani patiently waited for me. Then I told her everything up to the second he left.

"No! You have to! What if he's the one, like I know you a thug for life and 'can't be tied down' but-"

"Um Amani, the nigga blackmailed me into having sex with him the first time we did."

"Bitch don't act like you ain't want to. We both know you could've shot that nigga at the door and kept it moving." Amani says drinking her entire glass in one gulp. I start thinking about what she said and she was right. I took down an entire gang to save my father but when it came to this high yellow nigga I was 'blackmailed and forced'. She definitely is crazy for thinking I couldnt be in a relationship with him though.

"Whatever."

"Yeah, it's whatever cause it's true." She chuckles.

"And so the fuck what if it's true, Mani." She dramatically turns to me flipping her hair and all.

"Biiiiittttcccchhhh. You like him, don't you girl?" She asks. She starts dancing around and laughing.

"Amani, stop!" She stops. "I do not like him. He just- he's got what I need. Dick and dominance." I say drinking.

"Those double D's do be serious. Don't take them shits lightly." Mani says snacking on a wheat thin. My phone dings.

"Speak of the damn devil." I say.

"Well I guess this is goodbye

"Well I guess this is goodbye." Amani starts.

"No. What? You can't leave me!" I say.

"Baby, I gotta go. I got a Double D appointment. Toodles!" She says and with that she leaves. I sit with myself in the silence and bite my lip as I text back. I feel weird talking to him after confessing I liked him around but Daddy ain't raise no bitch. Literally seconds later his number crosses the screen.

"What you want?" I answer.

"I ain't gotta want something to hit you up, ma." He says.

"Yeah, ok." I say rolling my eyes.

"You look good." He says. He could only see from the middle of my chest and up. I was wearing a black cami with a cropped hoodie over it.

"I know. You talk to your goons?" I asked.

"Yeah, they get the memo. You an ally. You got nothing to worry about."

"Good." I say. It becomes quiet.

"Can we go back to how it was before all this shit started, now?" He says.
