Daveed walks back into the apartment. Dave is still watching the window as Layla pulls out of the parking lot and into the street.

"You good?" Daveed asks.

"Yeah, I'll be aight." Dave says walking away from the window. He pulls out a glass and some Hennessy from his pantry.

"That was crazy. Who is that? My main question is how'd she just-"

"I don't know, man." Dave says irritated. "She's something else. I'm still trynna figure her out."

"Why'd you hit her?"

"She was pointing in my face, yelling an shit. You know I ain't never take kindly to that shit. I just forgot who she was for a second." He says.

"She threatened your masculinity."

"Nigga, what?"

"She made you feel powerless. In your own house, at that! I understand where you coming from. But we don't put our hands on women."

"Don't you think I know that?!" Dave says.

"Well?"

"Well what?" Dave says after taking a swig of his drink.

"What are you gonna do?" Daveed asks.

"What can I do?"

"I don't know but you at least gotta talk to her."

"Talk to her?! Did you see her, she wanted to shoot me. And you don't know my Layla. I'm lucky to be alive. She could've killed me." Dave says. He takes another shot.

"Then I'll do it." Daveed says.

"Hell no. She already thinks I'm a narcissist. I gotta show her I'm not to proud to apologize to her without letting her think I'm her bitch."

"Then fuck her." Daveed shrugs. "That's what I would do. I would eat her pussy till she screamed and then fucked her lights out. Every position. Missionary, Doggy, standing up, sitting down, 69 it.I would-" At this point Daveed is humping the air and he's putting in work just imagining Layla but Dave interrupts him.

"Daveed! Again, it's my girl your talking about."

"That ain't what she said." He says chuckling.

"When have you ever known me to stress about a female?" Dave asks. For once Daveed is silent. "Exactly. She's the one. I know it, she doesn't. But I do. Now can you help me and stop pretending to fuck her?"

"I should have shot him. I could've shot him. Why didn't I shoot him?!" Layla says pacing her office.

"Layla, sit down. You know shooting that man wouldn't have made you feel any better." Amani says filing her nails.

"Oh yes it would. I'm not the one, Amani."

"Yes, Lay. We know. Everybody knows at this point. Sometimes you act just like a nigga."

"What?" Layla asks turning to Amani who must've lost her mind.

"I'm just saying. You might as well be Beyoncé with that big ass ego of yours. It's okay to be vulnerable."

"No. Not for me, it's not. First I'm vulnerable and then-"
