{Then}
1984"Dustin you dweeb! Stay out of my drawer!" I practically had to pounce on him before he robbed me of all the money I've been saving up for my college fund. He honestly thought I wouldn't notice?
"I'll pay you back sis! Just pleeeeeeease? We're going to the Arcade and you know I have to keep my high score up." I rolled my eyes with a huff, packing everything into my book bag that i could possibly need for hell on earth. And now I can erase my dreams of being a rich bitch off my list because my little brother is stealing it all.
"Fine.... but I swear, don't take any more. Or next time, I'm cutting your hands off." He suddenly threw his arms around me in a major hug, placing a sloppy kiss to my check before dashing out of the house and onto the arcade.
"Fuck me man... why do I have to be so soft with him?" I looked at myself in the mirror, throwing down my jacket and fixing my hair from the ruffled mess of curls I always contract throughout the day. My eyes had massive luggage under them and I felt like hell on earth. That's what I get for being smart and actually doing my school work. And going to bed early tonight because I feel like death. Such a dweeb you are Lana.

"I swear, I wonder if this Max goes to our school? Or is he an adult with no life? Anyway, he beat my high score and made me look like a loser in front of the guys Lana!" I laughed from his overly dramatic tone already this morning, when I'm barely awake yet. I had the music blasting to kick me into overdrive."I don't know Dust. But it must be some good dude to have beat that kind of score. I mean, what are you gonna do? Whoop their ass on the playground?" He stuck his tongue out with an eye roll, just as we pulled into the parking lot next to Nancy and Steve.
"Maybe....." We finally got out of the car once I felt like actually leaving the comfortable confines of it, contemplating already taking a nap. And my brother is wanting to start a school brawl. Greaaaaat.
"Just drink a juice box and be on your merry way. And don't actually get into some fight. Be a kid for once!" I jerked his hat off and ruffled his hair with complaints already leaving his mouth from it. I may give him a hard time. But I do love the kid. I think last years events really put it into prospective how much he means to me. How much they all mean to me.
"Yeah yeah. Bye sis." I waved him off with a humored grin, when a loud ass car came whizzing past me with rock music blaring, almost reflecting what I do every single morning. The drivers side door came to an open once the car halted, and out came a guy I really didn't expect. Curly, shoulder length hair. This look that could mesmerize you on sight. Killer sex appeal. But clearly someone you don't just go up to and say hi. He had this way about him. Danger. I guess.
"Who in the world is that?" I finally tore my eyes away long enough to eye Nancy with a little grin, seeing everyone had their eyes on this mystery guy. Especially the ladies.
