Gilbert Blythe was in the kitchen with bash, who was playing with Delphine, as he was cutting up carrots. You were staying with bash and Gilbert until your parents get back from adopting a girl in Nova Scotia. You and Gilbert have been best friends ever since you two were kids, at some point in life you grew to like the boy, believe it or not. Gilbert liked you as well, but he was sometimes often confused about his feelings towards you.
You were walking downstairs with your book in hand as you over heard Gilbert talking to bash
"I don't know I do see a future with Y/N but she's set up to be married to Billy Andrews," said Gilbert
"Well did you explain to her parents that you would be the better suitor then this... Billy Andrews?" Asked bash as he looked up at Gilbert
"It no use there rich and I'm poor, she's even ashamed to tell her parents that were friends," said Gilbert as he set his cutting utensils down "what do I do bash I'm confused?"
"Why don't you ask Y/N yourself..."
"What did you mean?" Asked Gilbert
Bash motioned for Gilbert to turn around and when he did he saw you standing there with tears in your face so you stormed out running as far as you can away from the Blythe house
You sat there broken-hearted as those words replayed in your head
