The light streamed in through the clear windows, warming her olive skin. She stood in line and stared at the man sitting at the table where she usually sat. His blonde curly hair bounced as he reached into his pocket taking out a ring of metal keys. He turned his head to the spot where the carvings of the tic-tac-toe pattern were placed. She held her breath as she moved up in line. The man made eye contact with her and smiled deeply before standing up and walking out of the cafe.

"Excuse me, miss."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. Uhh- I would like um. Shit. Wait I need to check something I'm sorry," she stammered nervously.
Tripping over her feet, she fell towards the table in the dusty corner of the cafe. She focused on the wall and spotted the outline on the wood. Her breath hitched and she slumped in defeat.
It was the same as before.
