Chapter 10: Tent Tension

The Next Day:

I was in the kitchen getting food and drink ready for Bella, and I with Jasmine and Hope before the battle tomorrow.

"So, remind me again why you're sitting out of the fight? I mean, you're alpha now, you call the shots." Hope stated.

"Because, before you guys showed up I was helping the pack hunt down Victoria with the Cullen's. But Emmett decided to jump over the treaty line and Paul knocked him off. I heard in his mind he was about to attack Emmett so I got to Paul first. Sam called Paul off and they left, I phased back and went to see if Emmett was okay. However, there may be a chance Victoria saw me phase. That's why I have to stay away with Bella and Edward." I explained.

"We got the two tents and your bag." Nick said walking in as he and Derek set them down on the dining room table.

"Thank you boys, I appreciate it." I smiled as Hope handed Jasmine and I the food and drinks to put in the cooler.

"You think Paul will stay up there with you?" Jasmine asked with a smirk.

"Doubtful." I shrugged. "I mean, we're just friends."

This caused Hope and Jasmine to chuckle.

"What?" I asked confused.

"You're so blind." Hope shook her head.

"We see the way Paul looks at you." Jasmine told me. "It doesn't take a genius to know he has feelings for you."

"Well, we have clear boundaries I set with him." I shrugged. "He knows Jasper and I are engaged anyways. He's accepted to move on."

"Wow. He's a bigger man than I thought." Jasmine said before turning to Hope. "You owe me $10."

"Wait, you guys bet on Paul?" I scoffed amused.

"I was sure he'd act like Jacob does with Bella." Hope shrugged handing Jasmine the bill. "We done?"

"Yup, this is everything!" I smiled.

"Hey Jasper!" Derek waved

"Hello, boys." Jasper nodded then smiled at me. "You ready darlin'? Edward and Bella are on their way to meet us."

"Wait, you're sitting out?" I asked with a frown. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd be released, but doesn't your family need you?"

"I'm only staying for the night." Jasper smiled, taking my hands in his. "But don't worry about us, we'll be fine."

I nodded before he gave me a passionate kiss.

"Ugh! Get a room!" Nick teased.

"I'd prefer they don't." Dad said walking in making us chuckle, then turned to us. "Take care of her Jasper, we'll see you tomorrow."

"Yes, sir." Jasper nodded as he put on my backpack of clothes and snacks, and put the two tents around his shoulders before picking me up. I ended up having to hold the cooler before we left the house and Jasper ran us to the clearing.

Bella and I decided to help lure the newborns here by pricking our finger, smearing blood on the trees and leaves so the newborns would be distracted as we waited for Paul and Jacob.

"You two are going overboard." Edward told us.

"I thought you guys couldn't smell my scent." I asked confused.

"We can't, doesn't mean we can't smell Bella's." Jasper stated. "The newborns will be frantic."

"If this is all I can contribute, I wanna be thorough." Bella told them. "But please, don't make yourselves uncomfortable."
