chapter 3: coming out

James POV

I woke up with Sirius above me. He had a marker in his hand and was drawing onto my face.

"Sirius I'm awake" I said pushing him off.

"Good now you can admir my talent" Sirius said flipping his hair.

I walked to the mirror and saw I had a mustache and a beard drawn on.

I got some water and tried washing it off but couldn't.

"SIRIUS ORION BLACK!" I yelled walking out of the bathroom.

"He ran" Remus said getting up and getting dressed.

We walked down to lunch since we had all slept through breakfast.

Everyone was laughing when they saw me. I saw Regulus at the Slytherin table and looked at him for a quick second before remembering that I wasn't supposed to.

I sat with my back to the Slytherin table. We ate and planned tomorrow night.

"Nice look Potter" Lucius said walking by with Narcissa, Severus and Regulus.

"Could you some colour" Severus said pointing his wand at me. He made the beard rainbow.

"There now you look like the puff you are. Proud?" Severus said.

I could see how uncomfortable Regulus was behind them.

"Very" I replied making Lucius and Severus huff and leave.

For the rest of the day I got asked if I was gay or not. By 5pm I got so tired of the comments I went to Regulus' secret room hoping he'd be there.

I got into the tunnel and went down to where to door is. I knocked but there was no response.

I sat down and waited in the tunnel scared to go back into the castle.

About an hour later of crying and thinking I heard footsteps. Regulus opened the door from the other side and, without letting me get up, he bent down and hugged me tightly.

"I'm sorry Jammy. Let me fix that" he said getting out his wand. With a quick motion the beard was removed.

I stood up with him in my arms. He walked me into the room and sat me down on the bed.

He got me a box of tissues, tea and a box of garlic bread sticks. We sat on the bed eating.

"I told Sirius I was gay" I said looking down, Slowly chewing the bread stick.

Regulus choked and coughed causing my to laugh a little at the dramatic reaction.

"How? Did he take it well?" Regulus asked taking a sip of his water.

"Well last night we went onto the roof of the clock tower and just talked. He was having flashbacks from your family and after the talk I asked him if he had a sister if he'd let me date her" as I said that Regulus face palmed. "And then he asked me if I was dating one of your cousins and I felt so disgusted at the thought I mumbled that I wasn't insane just gay and then yeah. He took it great though and told me he wouldn't tell anyone unless I ask him to." I finished saying.

"Well I'm sorry I'm attacking your best friend but my brother is very oblivious" he said exaggerating the 'very'

I laughed a little and checked the time.

"Hey it's 7:30 pm we should get to dinner. I need to sleep in my dorm tonight and tomorrow night as well. I'm sorry." I said wrapping an arm around him.

"I know don't worry. And you bringing me into your arms isn't making want to go eat dinner"

"Wait you know?" I asked a little shocked.
