Prologue

After dinner Sirius left the table quietly, something he rarely did.

He went to his room and packed up a few bags of clothes and items dear to him like pictures of Regulus and Remus' scarf and chocolate wrapper.

At 1am he left. The 17 year old boy was now walking in the cold streets of London. He turned around for a second and questioned if this was a good decision. He figured it was the only way for him to be happy and continued.

He walked till he got to the leaky cauldron and met up with James Potter,his best friend.

"Hey Prongs" Sirius said sounding exhausted.

"Hey padfoot. You ready?" James asked. Sirius nodded and they stood up. They went to the back alleyway and James apparated them to his house.

The Potter mansion was gigantic.  Remus was on the porch tapping his foot anxiously.

"MOONY!" Sirius exclaimed dropping his bags and running to his boyfriend.

They hugs and kissed while James picked up Sirius'bags. "Alright lovebirds follow me"

James got Remus and Sirius settled into one of his 5 guest bedrooms. Remus was kicked out of his house yesterday when his parents found out the Marauders knew he was a werewolf and that he was dating  Sirius, a pure blood male.

"Goodnight you too and please don't wake anyone up" James said closing the door with a wink.

Remus and Sirius got ready for bed and cuddled before falling asleep.

Regulus woke up to his mother in a screaming fit. 'what did Sirius do now?' he thought to himself before walking out of his room.

"Hey Kreacher what happened?" Regulus asked.

"Master Sirius left during the night. No note." Kreacher said.

Regulus' face dropped for a second. "Good for him" Regulus replied with a small smile.

Walburga came storming into the kitchen.

"REGULUS! Did you know of this?!" She screamed in his face.

"No mother I did not" Regulus said, emotionless.

"You are now forbidden to speak or see Sirius. Consider him no longer part of the black family. Consider him as the enemy since he is no longer your brother!" Walburga yelled walking upstairs.

Regulus followed close behind and saw his mother burn Sirius' face of the family tree.

That evening Regulus couldn't help but think about his brother.

He felt abandoned. He wasn't good enough for his brother or he would've at least told him he was leaving.

Regulus slowly walked around the empty house. He sat by the fireplace, hugging his knees, as tears slowly fell down his face.

Kreacher wrapped a soft blanket around the 16year old boy.

"At least now he's safe" Kreacher murmured walking back to his bucket of soapy water.

Regulus stayed by the fire for a while till he screamed out in pain.

His mother had walked through the door and heard crying and sent a crusio Regulus' way.

"Regulus you know we do not cry" his mother said till holding the spell.

"I'm sorry mother. It will no longer happen. I promise." Regulus said through the pain.

She lowered her wand and Regulus stood up with his head down.

"Go clean up for dinner. Your cousins are coming over." She said walking to her study.

Regulus walked up to his room and to his bathroom.

He held his wand out to his arm and whispered a spell. Cuts gushed blood out of his arm. He started feeling dizzy and lightheaded.

'i deserve pain. I'm not good enough. He left me for a reason. I'm disgusting. I should already be dead by now' Regulus thought before closing the wounds.

He cleaned the blood up and went to the shower. He got dressed in a black suit and walked downstairs to wait at the door for his three cousins.

Cygnus and Druella stood at the front door with their three daughters behind them. Cygnus knocked twice and Regulus opened the door.

"Hello Regulus. How are you?" Cygnus asked entering.

"Well uncle. How are you and the family?" He asked politely.

"We're well thank you darling." Druella responded for her husband.

"Brother. Lovely to see you in good health." Walburga exclaimed walking into the foyer and going towards her brother.

"Nice to see you sister. How's Orion?"

"Well. He's out now but he'll be back before supper." She smiled.

"Go upstairs children" Druella softly said.

All four children went up with Regulus sighing as he'll have to entertain his 3 cousins alone from now on.

"Heard siri left! Where to?!" Bellatrix said walking around touching everything that shouldn't be touched.

"I don't know. I don't care. He's no longer my brother. He's a flithy blood traitor, might as well be a mudblood for all I care." Regulus said. He was lying but knew what his mother wanted to hear and knew his cousins would snitch if he showed any emotion.

They ate dinner and left. "See you on the train tomorrow Regulus" Andromeda said waving goodbye. Regulus gave her a quick smile before closing the door.

"Pack your truck tonight. We'll leave at dawn for the train. I hate being around those filthy muggles." Walburga told Regulus before walking to her room.

Regulus walked upstairs and packed his truck. He went to bed and thought about Sirius while slowly crying.

The next morning Regulus got to Kings Cross station.

"You listen to me Regulus. You will not see, speak or acknowledge Sirius' presence. If I learn you have you'll regret it." She said walking away from the entrance to the station and leaving to where she could apparate.

Regulus sighed and turned around and walked into the station. He ran into the wall and appeared on platform 9 3/4. He but his truck down and climbed into the train.

He walked by some compartments and walked by one with his brother and his friends. He snapped his head back and continued to his compartment where he usually sat with his cousins and their friends.

James saw Regulus walk by the compartment. "Hey pads did you tell anything to your brother before you left. He looks awful." James asked sirius.

"Nope. He would've stopped me otherwise." Sirius said laying his head on Remus' lap.

They got to Hogwarts and joined Peter asking him about his winter break.

N/a : I know Sirius was 16 when he ran away but I need Regulus to be 16 for this since where I live the age of consent is 16 and I prefer to keep fan fiction still almost legal.
