chapter 5: ending

James POV

It's now June. Tomorrow is my last day at Hogwarts, forever.

I loved this school. I loved the students, the teachers, the ghosts and the my lake monster buddy.

But tomorrow everything will be gone. I won't see Regulus every day and I won't be living with my best friends and boyfriend.

My entire life is about to change and I'm not ready.

The war had been going on for months now and Regulus and I are so close to finding out a way to get rid of 'you know who'

We've found and destroyed 5 horcruxes and know only 1 is left before he's once again mortal. But that'll have to be paused while I move and Regulus goes to his last year of Hogwarts.

I headed down to Hogsmead with Regulus. He agreed to move into my house once I bought it to not crowd my parents anymore. 

"I don't want to leave" I said leaving Hogwarts' gates.

"I know baby. I don't want you away from me too but it's life, we've got to move on. Maybe you'll be able to come back as a teacher if you really miss it that much. I definitely wouldn't mind having you as my teacher~" he said wrapping an arm around me.

I cuddled into his arms and gave him a long kiss. We stood there, looking at Hogwarts for a while. I felt tears stream down my face and I soon was on the ground sobbing. Regulus tried to help but eventually gave up and just hugged me till I stopped.

We got onto the train and a compartment with the Marauders. We  remembered our favorite memories from school before we all fell asleep.

My parents were on the platform waiting for us. All 4 of us left the train and walked up to my parents.

"Last train ride hu?" My father asked.

"He better visit me somehow so I hope it's not his last!" Regulus said.

"Oh Regulus darling! How are you?" My mother asked hugging him.

"I'm great ms.Potter. Kinda sad I won't be seeing him everyday next year but at least we have an amazing summer before then" Regulus said coming back to hug me.

Sirius and Remus stayed behind us. Sirius was half asleep in Remus'arms and Remus was crying into Sirius' hair.

"Oh you two big boys, come here!" My mother said opening her arms and taking both Remus and Sirius into a tight hug.

"You two will be fine. It'll take a bit of time to adjust but trust me you're lives are going to be great after Hogwarts!" My mom said trying to help.

Once we all got our trunks we headed back to my mother's flying car.

Once we were all in the mansion we separated into our rooms while my parents made dinner together.

"Hey babe come here" Regulus said opening his arms.

He was laying on the bed and had his arms out for a hug. I crawled into his arms and snuggled close to him.

We hugged and talked for a few hours. Once we were called to dinner we got up and went down.

"So what are each of your plans for this summer?" My father asked.

"Well I'm going house hunting and moving into a house hopefully." I responded.

"I'm gonna spend as much time as I can with James before I need to go back." Regulus said holding my hand.

"I'm just gonna hug Remus like he's a tree for a few months and hope for the best" Sirius responded.
