This chapter is dedicated to oreeee01. You are beautiful, babe.
Unbelievably flat stomachs.
Big, perky breasts.
Big, bubble butts.
Abs that ripple.
Toned calves.
Hourglass figures.
Broad chests.
Soft, plump lips.
Full, soft hair.
Big, doe-like eyes.
Perfectly pointed noses.
Chiseled chins.
Flawless, creamy skin.
Even, white teeth.
Legs that go on for days.
Perfectly rounded hips.
Small, slim waists.
The society places so much emphasis on these features as criteria for beauty.
Why do we need to conform to the society's dictates on what makes us attractive or otherwise?
Your belly is fleshy? That's okay.
Your nose is crooked? Stunning.
Your eyes are slanted? Splendid.
Your skin isn't all that clear? Perfectly normal.
You have stretch marks? Gorgeous.
Cellulite as well? Exquisite.
There is really no need to feel insecure, or lacking in one way or the other just because you don't look like every other Tom, Dick and Harry in existence.
The things that we see as imperfections are really not. They are simply what make you you.
Besides, we tend to forget that we're more than just bodies. You're a mind, a soul, and a heart too! Like a wise person once said, our bodies are merely houses in which all the unique gifts and characteristics that make us who we are reside.
Imagine how the dull the world would be if we all looked the same way; same haircut, same facial features, same physique, same everything. Ugh. It would be like looking in a mirror all the damn time.
You're beautiful, baby girl/ boy. Eat good food for you. Exercise for you. Stay healthy for you. Look good for you! Don't do that for anybody else, and definitely not to meet other people's standards of beauty.
You don't need to feel ugly or unattractive because of what any ignorant person thinks or says about your appearance. No!
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. Anyone that constantly puts you down or makes you feel like shit about your appearance certainly isn't needed. Get that toxic hoe out of your life!
No one is 100% confident all the time. We all have those moments where we look in the mirror and we're like ew, who's that?! And that's okay. We're allowed to feel that way once in a while, we're definitely not perfect. There would always be doubts and insecurities. The best thing you could do for yourself is to ensure those doubts do not control you or determine who you really are.
Remember, you would only be treated the way you think you deserve to be treated. Don't let other people define your self-worth or validate you.
Hype yourself up, play to your strengths, be the best possible version of yourself, because absolutely no one is going to do that for you.
