Aunt Mamrie pulls up to my house at 10:30. She takes me up to the door and let's herself in, calling out for my mom when we enter.

"Grace!" Aunt Mamrie shouts. "I brought Soph home early."

My mom comes running from her bedroom, looking bewildered as to why Mamrie brought me home.

"Why do you have Sophie?" She asks.

"Little miss called me, saying she didn't feel well." Aunt Mamrie explains. "Don't worry, I already gave her the third degree. She didn't drink or do drugs or anything like that. I went and picked her up."

Mom smiles weakly, coming over to hug me. "You're not feeling well honey?"

"I just felt a little anxious, that's all." I say. It's not a lie, I did feel anxious.

"Are you sure you're okay, Sophie? You don't look right." Mom questions.

"I'm fine." I say with fake enthusiasm. "I'm just tired."

"Alright." Mom says. "Thank you, Mames, for bringing her home."

"Anytime Smellbig." Aunt Mamrie replies. "I'm always happy to see little miss."

Mamrie heads out the door and Mom takes me to bed. I can tell she's still worried about me. After I've changed into my pajamas, she comes over to hug me again before I climb into bed. She pulls me into an embrace, something that's made me feel safe since I can remember. Her small arms hold me tightly, and her familiar scent calms me.

"I love you, little miss." She whispers, using the nickname everybody but Aunt Mamrie gave up using.

"I love you too mom." I reply, kissing her cheek before sliding under the covers.

Mom smiles a comforting smile before shutting my lights off. She pulls the door shut tightly and I'm about to rest my head on my pillow when my phone buzzes.

Maggie: Hey Soph, you okay?

Me: I'm alright. I just freaked a little; it was my first kiss after all.

Maggie: Alright then. Night x

Me: Night. Xx

I turn my phone off and lie down, but I can't sleep. My head is racing with thoughts and I can't seem to stop them. But one thought keeps occurring. One thought plagues my mind all night. I'm officially in the closet.
