{ a/n- I'm bored as hell, so I'm updating twice today. have y'all missed my notes, because they're probably annoying. sorry }
When we get home, Mom tries to send me to bed, but I sit down on the couch instead.
"I'm going to explain." I tell her.
She looks to Dad, who comes and sits down next to me. Mom sits in between us, intertwining hands with Dad before facing me. I take a deep breath and begin.
"The night of the party, I played spin the bottle. The bottle happened to land on me and this girl in my English class, Blaire. We kissed, and it was possibly the best thing in my entire life. I realized then, that I never want to kiss a guy. I'm disgusted by the thought of kissing a guy. I went to Aunt Mamrie's, and she helped me realize I was gay." I explain.
Dad looks shellshocked. Mom, on the other hand, moves to embrace me. She holds me close, and I cling to her like I used to when I was little and would have a nightmare.
"Sophie," she murmurs. "I'm so proud of you. You're brave, little miss. I admire your courage."
I feel wet on my shoulder and see tears sparkling in her chocolately brown eyes; the eyes she's given me.
"Thank you mom." I say, my voice thick with tears.
"Any girl who is lucky enough to date my daughter," Dad starts quietly. "better realize how good they've got it."
"Yeah, about that." I continue. "Blaire asked me out today, and I said yes. Someone at school heard, and they called me-they called me a-"
"Oh honey, they did?" Mom asks, her eyes knowing.
"That's why I panicked. I tried to go to the bathroom but I passed out."
"I'm so sorry, Sophie." Dad mumbles.
We sit on the couch together, Mom holding me and Dad's arms wrapped around the both of us. I close my eyes and let myself relax. Everything is going to be okay.
